I'm somewhat partial to black myself. This first pic is what I saw the moment I walked into the dealership...I was sold from that point on. The other pics are once I got it home!

I can deal with noticing the imperfections a bit more...after all, it's those imperfections that separates Carmen San Diego from the *ahem* others...

My A/B is about 8 months old now, hand wash it, have put the factory outdoor cover on it numberous times at the beach. It is a clear coated paint. It does not have swirl marks on it. My neighbor has a Solistice that is black, his is covered in swirl marks. So far it has not swirled at all, my other black cars did. I also have the buffer and supplies from DP just like you do, just in case. The keeping clean and swirl mark frenzy read here, should be no more than any other color MINI has with clear coat on it.

OK, I've decided. If I can afford to do it, AB sidewalk it is. Now just need to see how they'll do with me and how the financing will work out.

My only additional suggestion:
Do like Sidewalker and request the badge delete on the side.

Also well advised! The Sidewalk badge on the side didn't sit well with me...much cleaner look without it. Besides, any knowledgeable MINI owner will recognize the wheels and interior as a Sidewalk...and for those that don't...doesn't matter anyway.

Man.....tough choice. They both really look great. I think if I had to choose, I'd go with BRG. No, Black. No, BRG, No, Black. Awww heck. Too hard to choose. Good luck with that!

Bummer! Not sure where you're located, but try calling Neil Schekter at Moritz Mini in Arlington, TX (dallas / ft worth area). He was awesome, and knows some shortcuts to get what you want. Tell him Chris sent ya! Can't hurt to try...

That's where I bought my current one but I'm 1100miles away now. Turns out it was the financing they couldn't do till Dec (strange).

Hmm - thats still curious. I was quoted a rather crappy rate, but still a rate from the mini dealer. I called Wells Fargo and was given 6.3% on a 48mo note. Thats not bad - I suspect it will only get better in the coming weeks too.

They approved me for 30 days, after that I can call and extend it for another 30 days (I am hoping that's all the time I will need) after the 60 days I can call and get a blank check that will be good for 30 days - brining me out 90 days total....should be good :-)

Not sure if something like this helps you at all - but give it a shot and go order your mini just the way you want it !

Oh yeah, try Lendingtree.com I was told very good things about that site - I think right now Capital One has about the best rates.

I own an Astro Black Sidewalk and absolutely love it. I'd post pics, but I've been too busy driving the darn thing!

Well not to throw a white silver wrench in the equation but that's a new Sidewalk only color option now.

just ordered my mcs sidewalk in brg with black sport stripes. diablito ....thank you!!!! i believe you have the only picture of a real live green sidewalk that i could find on the net. i just think that brg with natural leather trim is a classic and tasteful look. sidewalker/eager2own...agree with you about the side badging and am calling to see if it can be deleated on mine. btw, having an imola red bmw m3, i know swirls.....it did have something to do with my not choosing black. serious pictures in 8 weeks!
