R50/53 Found something on my MINI!!!
Maybe I've been blind for the past 3 months but today I was in the passenger seat(which is not too often) & I noticed the little gas pump on the fuel gauge has a little arrow pointing to the left to tell you what side of the car your gas cap is on.
Has anyone else not noticed this or am I the only dummy in the crowd

yup it's true. There is an arrow. Mine is pointing up to the roof.
Nah it isn't. It's going left like every one else. Interesting.
Does it say that in the manual? Didn't get around to reading it you know, with all the excitement of driving around the mini and all.
Good pick up Louie. We miss you and think of you often (like everytime you post on MCO) back in Hawaii
OK. That got up my curiosity enought to go and check for myself. Never noticed that before. But that's a pretty small arrow though. I spend more time looking at my tach than I do my speedo.
Interesting find there Louie

Here's something that I just discovered: While on most cars to recess the side mirrors (like when your parked in a tight spot and don't want someone bumping in to them) you would fold the mirrors back towards the rear, but on the mini you twist them upward.
While the arrow is interesting, it isn't unusual. After having driven dozens of rental cars, I have come to rely on the little arrow in many makes to know (without having to stop and get out of the car) which way to pull up to the gas pump.
Yeah.....I'll have to remember that the next time I'm in a car other than my own. So as to not look like an idiot at the gas station due to not being on the right side for the fuel door.
Never bothered to look that closely to the fuel reading icon before. That'll be my newly learned thing for the day.
