Renewed love.

Has anyone else found this to be true. There I was thinking of all the mods I wanted to do to my 04 MCS, when I decided to take it out for a ride. I drove the P*ss out of it. Trying never to let the RPMs drop below 4000. I came back thinking--I loved this car. OK, here's what strange. Every since that, my Mini has just run like a champ. The rpms climb with an ease and quickness that I never experienced before. I've heard of cleaning out the cobwebs before, but didn't think it would make that much of a difference. No mods for me. I can't handle what I got. I must add, I'm not the most aggresive driver. One, I'm old, and two, while living in England back in the 60s, I rolled a Mini in a high speed chase. Last thought. Does a supercharger have a hymen?

Now THAT's funny!

There are two factors at work in the effect you observe.

1. Putt-Putting around builds up carbon deposits on the spark plugs and the combustion chamber. Romping on the gas occasionally cleans this crap out.

2. The computer adapts to your driving style. Stomp on it a little and it remembers that you want it to run.

You drove it like it wanted to be driven! Can't answer the more "personal" question, but the MINI does seem to like being revved up for play!

I have had a similar ownership experience with my unmodded '03 Cooper!! It seemed as if it had facets of its subtle personality to teach me...the more time I had in the driver's seat the more I learned...and the more I loved my Cooper "as is." I've always said that there are nuances to these cars that only reveal themselves with time...it's been that way for me.

dude we did the same thing I was due to get an auto MCS but I drove mine crosstown full throttle i know careless but what can I say you can't say no to a Mini, ever since then the throttle is more responsive even in high gears, my dealership says i'm just used to the performance
