OK, please straighten something out for me. The Rain-Sensitive wipers, is the second part of the package auto dimming or auto dipping mirrors??

I have seen it called both, on my order it says dipping. I'm so confused!!

Also, I'm in NJ, and the manual says not to put toll tags behind the mirror, will the effect where I will put the ol' ez-pass????

Many thanks

Kumquat (gotta love that name!) It says in my info on hand auto "dimming" rear-view mirror. I've seen that feature offered many other places (don't have it), but what the heck would auto DIPPING mirrors do?! NUMMYTIME

I have the option on my MCS. It may be called dipping, but in actual service is based on the science of electrochromics which is a process of reversibly darkening materials by applying electricity. The mirror uses a sensor facing the rear (this is what they are referring to not covering up) and electronic circuitry that detects light and darkens the mirror to eliminate rear headlight glare. Combined with the rain sensing wipers the option is a bargain at $140

Auto-dimming and they work great. I just wish they had ones for the side view mirrors!
