STRANGE things been happening

I have a service appointment tomorrow morning at MINI of Manhattan, for a scuff mark that a lady in a old jeep left ont he top driver side of my front bumper and it was while i was in the car with my 18 month old niece. The only bad part about that being that she sais and i quote "these things happen in NY" Ive had my MINI for 16 months and this has never happened before. Then she said that "You cant prove that i did that", I mean come on, I was in my car when it happened!

but that is neither here nor there, now for the strange things.

I was on my way back from school today and I heard a very strange noise, so i turned off my radio and listened. I heard a bell-like gingle coming from underneath my driver side door when i go over the slightest bump. I immediately pulled over and looked under the car and there didnt seem to be anything loose or broken and she felt fine. So i added that to the list of things i needed my service advisor to look at and went home. Has this happened to anyone else? And the only mechanical mod on my MINI is shoe's engine damper.

Then I got out of my car in the driveway and was walking away and i hit the lock button on my key and it didnt lock. I was only four or five feet away but walked closer and tried again anyway. Nothing. Now if i am not mistaken arent our keys supposed to recharge when in the ignition? The strange part being that the key was in the ignition for about a half hour before it suddenly died. So my question for that is will i have to replace the key? Or will the dealer be able to pop it open and swap batteries because i looked at it intently and it doesn't look like its supposed to open. So I am a little puzzled as well as frustrated!

Thanks for any advice/answers you can give.
Happy Motorin
-Matt

Go find the woman who damaged your MINI and matchstick all of her valve stems. "These things happen in NY". Oh, sorry, can you prove it?
Grrr....

The jingling can only mean one thing... you've picked up an infamous NYC Automotive Faerie. Good for you! Although it's not surprising - faeries have great taste in cars, but they ARE a bit hard on modern electrical systems, as your lock problem shows...

Feed her a diet of cream and honey and your car will never need major service. The lady that dinged you will learn to her dismay that Auto Faeries don't LIKE people that deface their homes - expect her to find her car filled with jellyfish or toads or mushrooms one morning.
