Thinking of buying a 2002 Mcs with just over 100,000 miles should I be concerned about a mini with this many miles? I have had many cars last 200,000 miles. I am wondering how these cars do once they have some miles on them. Original owner, well maintained car. thanks

 

Unless the price was really good, I'd stay away.

Things to ask about:

has the power steering pump / motor been replaced yet?

have the seat airbag wiring harnesses been updated? with the first update or the second one?

If it's an MCS, has the coolant tank been replaced with the one that doesn't leak?

I'm sure there are many more things to look into, but those are off the top of my head...

 

i would never buy a used car with more than 30,000 miles it. and i have never even bought a used one with 30,000 miles.

 

If you decide to purchase I would definately get a licensed mechanic to look at it... maybe even the dealer. Might cost you some but for the peace of mind its worth it.
