>>How long before estimated production date are people getting their VINs?
I used my prod # to sign into the Owners Lounge on Mini's site and my VIN was already on my order (in order details). I got my prod. # about 10 days after my dealer submitted the order.

Thanks guys,
I was wondering because my production date is 6/6 and I have yet to see a VIN.
Thanks

Don't remember where I read it, but I think we won't get VIN numbers until a week or two before the production date (I'm also 6/6).
Yee-haw!!! I had original production date of 5/23 and called this morning anxious to find out how "labor and delivery" was going and found out that he (yes, mine's a "he"
had already been born a week ahead of time! He's already booked on the ship and should arrive in Port Hueneme (Ventura County CA) on 6/17.
I'm not sure how long it will take to get to my dealer in the San Francisco area but looks like I'm definitely at the very least in the July club (the dealer originally told us 90 days from production which would have put my in late August!)

OK, I'm in. Dealer said a July born on date for me. EB/White, sport package, 17" wheels, MFSW, anthracite and leatherette, w/ stripes & HK stereo. Also said he was trying to track one down in the area so I could hopefully get one sooner
Too late for the Italian Job preview caravan, tho.

Sup ya'll!! I was orginally part of the April Club w/ Wastik, but my Mini was damaged at VDC and never made it to the dealer. (from what i was told, my mini's roof was damaged and when they went to repair it, they found out that the body had sustained some damage as well. According to BMW policy, if a car sustains more than 5% body damage, it can't be fixed. I still have no idea how the roof got dented in the first place.)
I was able to reorder immediately and I have a produciton date of 6/20. So it looks like i'm looking for a mid to end of July Delivery.
This is my second IB/W S w/ HK, MFSW, and On Board Computer....and i named my car "Phoenix" because it is being reborn out of the memory of my first mini.

OK, I called MINI the other day, the said I was still scheduled, no VIN, no status change yet. I check tonight, and, lo and behold, scheduled for production, and I got a VIN!!!
Now for my question. It appears that the ol' coop has just entered production, how long does it take approx. Week?? Can I maybe expect a week early shipping?? (Original date was 6/6)
Should I join the june club??
Also, is the only way to get a status number calling ASK-MINI???
Just curious, I don't want them gettin sick of me calling (because I'll probably do it daily!)
MY BABY IS COMING!!!

Takes approx 3 days to go through production. After that it is booked for the voyage over. Check the FAQ section on http://www.mini2.com and it shows how to track the car to delivery. Status codes can only be given by 866-ask-mini or your dealer. Your dealer can give you the best idea of when to expect delivery. You have to remeber that the 6/6 estimated produciton date is a date that the car will be produced BY not ON. There are many hold-ups that can happen after production (e.g. waitlist on ship, inspection hold up at VPC, etc) so it is better to go by what your dealer told you as delivery date. For instance, I'm picking up my Mini in Connecticut (not far from the port in NYC). My car is on the production line as I type this yet my dealer told me I have a mid-July delivery. Doesn't seem to add up as it's only an 8 day journey across the sea and a 2 hour (at most) drive from the VPC. But after going through past threads, it is correct. Usually 4-6 after production to the East Coast and 6-8 weeks on the west coast for delivery. A great place to do research is on http://www.mini2.com and look in the delivery section of the forums and one of the first postings in that section is the FAQ on delivery.....great stuff.
So my production date was 5/30 and according to the owner's lounge, I am now Status 182 (awaiting transport.) Should I be thinking about June, July, or even August?
I live in Pittsburgh, PA and am purchasing my car through P&W here in da 'Burgh. What have other people's experiences been?

You should be in good shape for the Vintage Grand Prix in Pittsburgh in Mid July if not zooming around by the 4th of July. Outside shot you could get it in June if you catch all the breaks.
I am going in for allocation this week which I understand means I should get a production date sometime mid July and hopefully have it before August. I'm in DC but was hoping to bring it up for the Vintage Grand Prix. Still a possibility but a very, very long shot now it looks like.

My est. production date was 6/6 (today). The car was completed earlier this week.
The Carmen is leaving Southampton today and my car is on it (on the cargo list anyway).
If it can get out of New Jersey with any speed I'll have the car less than 3 weeks after production. Fingers are crossed.
BTW, when checking the shipping status of your car, DO NOT enter only the last 7 digits of the VIN as the FAQ instructs - enter the ENTIRE VIN. Try it and see.

Thanks for the tip. It shows that ours arrived at the terminal on 6-3-03. What's the next step? Loading her into the bowls of the beast that will deliver her to us?!

The Carmen has sailed.
The next step is to take her call-sign (SGUC), go to oceanweather.com, click the atlantic ocean section, click "Marine Observations", and look for the call-sign.
Click "Java loop" to move things around to read better.
You can also click on "Observation Table" to see a list of call-signs observed.
I'm looking, but I don't see SGUC yet.

OK, I need help.
Went to the cargo website. I am listed as being booked on the Carmen (which has sailed). On the bottom of the page, it says "* Cargo is in waitlist status". Did I not make it??? It allows me to see that the vessel has sailed, but, the last status says received at terminal. I know it has been asked before, but is their site as behind as miniusa's, or am I outta luck?
Thanks for the help

I'm thinking we're both out of luck. Let's hope we sail on tuesday.

Ok, my MINI was received at the terminal and is booked on the MAERSK WIND, which is scheduled to arrive at Southhampton tomorrow. At the bottom of the cargo tracking screen it has an asterisk and says "Cargo is in Waitlist Status." So I guess I have a chance of getting on the MAERSK WIND and arriving at Port Hueneme on June 27th! Hopefully I won't be bumped!
Thanks for the tip on entereing the COMPLETE VIN on the tracking site!

How do you find out what the call sign is? I'm on the Grand Race right now, scheduled to arrive Port Hueneme on 6/17...

Go to the US Coast Guard site and search for your vessel. I entered Grand Race and it showed the call sign as 3FZH9.
My dealer just called with my production number so it's really beginning to feel real.
Should be a day or so before I can get a production date. I might be one of the last members of the July club to get theirs, but I'm optimistic.
