What do I do with my runflats?

Just ordered my '06 Cooper and it has runflats which I don't want. I will get a set of snows but I'm looking for ideas for the rest of the year. I do some spirited driving and the Dragon but thats about it. I'm currently running Fusion ZR-1's on my Z3 but that is more than I'll need for the MINI.

Use them up. Get your money's worth out of them.

Exactly, I see no reason not to. Mine are about 60% now I figure they will get me to the Dragon in the spring.

I sold my new OEM 16" runflats for $100 each... Depending on what tires your '06 Cooper has, you might do the same. I already had an extra set of non-run flats--otherwise I would have kept the OEMs.

That said, I'd suggest keeping them and buy a new set 20K miles from now. That buys you plenty of time to research the myriad options for replacements.

I am thinking of keeping my run flats and wheels as winter tires. The streets get cleaned off fast around here so they would be good enough. Then I plan to get different tires/wheels for the rest of the time (tires that definitely would not be good in snow ).

This may work for you if you don't need real snow tires. Just a thought ...

You can use them as planters at the end of your driveway.

Give them to me. I always have a use for used tires.

Sell 'em. I bought my tires used (a set of All-Seasons on X-lite rims) and I love them. If they have low miles you should be able to find a buyer easily enough. Good luck!

If you dismount them right away you can sell them as new.

If you drive on them and use them up that is fine.

If you add one or two more then you can make-

or

or even a bunch of

Almost more fun than driving on the runflats.
