All they do is squirt in four streams in random places all over my windshield. Does anyone know if you can install jets from a Lexus or Toyota on a MINI. They spray a fan of water onto the screen.

You can use a pin to adjust where the jets spray each of the 4 streams. I have mine adjusted so that I am pleased with their overall functionality.

Sorry, I have no idea about installing the jets from other manufacturers.

you can easily aim them. If you really wanted to try something risky... you could use some needle nose pliers and try to flatten the nozzles to get a "fan" pattern instead of the stream. But of course you risk closing them off completely and I wouldn't recomend it...haha

usually on most cars the washer jet is just connected with some vinyl tubing for the water line thats pretty universal, and they just mount threw a hole in the bonnet which is also usually universal in size, thats why those washers with the lights on the were popular is cause there universal and should fit on any car. I dont know if either the MINI or the Toyota/Lexus are special in anyway the best thing to do is find one or a set and try.

I agree, the jets suck. It makes me feel like I am driving a Chevy Aveo. And they make it so much harder to clean the windshield. Of all the things to cut corners on... regular BMWs have jets that spray nicely, wouldn't it have been easier and cheaper to just reuse the jets from another of their models?

So if you really want to upgrade them, look at the parts listing for a BMW 3 series or Z4 or something like that. Order the jets (I imagine they are cheap) and see if they will install.

i reaimed them later today and they do work a little better. i think ill be able to deal with them now. they were just really screwed up.

The worst is if you have a convertible and the top is down and you try to clean your window. Half of the wiper fluid ends up in the rear seats.

This might help visualize how you would go about it. If everything is the same size as mentioned by someone above....which i imagine it is....you just need to go talk to your local lexus dealer and grab some spare washer nozzles.

Heated ones are no better. When it gets down to about 2 degrees the washer fluid (the Mini OEM from the dealer) still turns to a goo-like gel and barely manages to slop up onto my windscreen in the front. The rear works ok - and I've been back twice to dealer, who says they are working just fine..........

The convertible windshield washer fluid issue seems to be a universal problem, no matter what the car - we've had everything from VW Cabrio's to Saab's and BMW's - always get a little bit of a "bath" when the windscreen needs a wash, either sitting still or moving.....a small sacrifice to pay in my opinion!

If spend an extra dollar or 2 for the -34 degree stuff you won't be pumping that OEM slush on the window. It's worth it to me when you need it to see.

I agree. The OEM fluid sucks. I emptied mine and put in some new Mr. Clean stuff and it's fine now.
