Clear bra MCSc ??
hi : I want to know your experience with the clear bra for MCSC ? I see the less expensive one on E-Bay ,are they any good?(please don't say you get what you pay for)
What areas do you put these onto (I have a MCSC with bonnet stripe)? Does it fade the color differently and for that matter how about the bonnet stripe? thanks kal

I love my xpel!
The part I never thought about was how much easier this makes it to knock the bugs off using QD spray with no fear or swirling the paint on the front end. I have 1/3 bonnet, bumper, headlights, foglights, mirror caps, stone guards, door edges and door edge around the boot hatch.
I went with the xpel because I wanted something thick (it is) and non-yellowing (it doesn't). I had it professionally installed because I think DIY on the bonnet would be a B!

My wife and I both have '06 MCSCs with 3M clearbras on them. My only regret was not getting hers done sooner, because by the time her car was five months old, she had six or seven rock chips that I had to repair before having the bra put on. So when mine came in, I took it to the clearbra installer on the second or third day I had it, before it had a chance to get chipped up.
Cost was about $490 per car, and for that price, they did the whole front bumper, about the first 18" of the bonnet, the headlamps, fog lamps, and driving lights. They would have done the mirror backs and hood scoops as well for that price, but hers are chrome and mine are carbon fiber, so I told them not to bother. Also, they would have done the upper grille slats, but since both of ours are chrome, I had them skip those too.
I don't know what the "thick" 3M film is, but this feels pretty thin (I think it's about 8-thousandths of an inch thick.) We haven't picked up any damage on the film yet, so it seems to be working.
The company was "Ultra-Shield", and I had the installation done in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
After watching the installers do both cars, I can say that I would *not* want to DIY with this stuff, especially without a second person helping me. There's too much pulling, stretching, spraying with soap/water, spraying with alcohol/water and stuff like that to do it perfectly without either a helper or four arms.

Invisi-shield is an option on the '07 cars. Is this the same thing? Better or worse than the 3M shield?
My only complaint with what I've seen is that it stops half-way up the hood. Or is there an alternative?
Also, doesn't water collect under the plastic?

I'm contemplating doing this too, as I already have two small chips, but I also wonder about the water collection. As nobody mentioned this who has had it done, I'm hoping it is not an issue. Anyone? Also, who fixed the paint chips BEFORE you had the bra put on? Was this DIY or professional paint chip repairs?

I fixed the rock chips myself, but I've done it plenty of times before. I used touch-up paint to fill the chips, wet-sanded them flat with some 2000-grit sandpaper, then polished the paint up with a buffer.
