Spirited driving and DSC light...

A few times now I've noticed my DSC light going on after spirited driving. Last year there was a post along a similar vein:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...=DSC+Indicator

I only have a 15% reduction Alta; should I really be exceeding the boost limit that triggers DSC to shut off?

Anyone else with a 15% pulley seeing the same thing?

The DSC isn't triggered by boost. A loss of traction triggers the DSC. I used to find it easy to break my wheels loose with a non-modified 03 MCS. An 06 with a 15% pulley should be easily able to light up the DSC light on a regular basis.

Thanks for the post. I should have been a little clearer... The light stays on and doesn't go off. You are right, I get the flashing DSC light all the time (esp in snow) .

What concerns me is the few times it's gone on recently without going back off (until the car is turned off/on). Per the post I refer to above, someone posted last year that this condition might be tied to hitting a boost threshold...but most of the discussion centered around mods with a 19% reduction...

So it goes on and stays on without you turning it off?

Yes, the indicator light goes on and stays on without me touching the DSC controls.

I was going to call the dealer and take the car in, but according to the post above this might be caused by my reduction pulley. They won't cover that under warranty; hence the reason I'm looking for some clarification...

Thanks

I've had this happen to me a couple of times...and I have an MC. I don't think it has anything to do with boost. The couple of times it has happened to me is if the car is warm from being recently driven, I will turn it on and take off right away. It seems like if I activate the DSC by losing traction right after turning the car on, it stays on. Maybe it is just a warning of hazardous conditions? I don't know why it does it. For me, it always turns off on its own after 5 or 10 minutes though.

I see something similar when driving in snow. But with the "spirited driving", it can't be turned off until turning off the car...

Do you notice a reduction in power? Or do you still have full power even while the light is on?

Full power, but I probably tone down the driving a bit since the DSC is off...

Funny this seems to happen only when I am running late..??

I had this happen. Took it to the dealer and they told me the oxegen sensor shorted out replaced it and reset. Was better. But when the light came on and stayed on other electrical equepment like A/C would not work at that time.
