MINI Love

I just got finished washing my mini.(her normal weekly bath) After I finished washing her, I just sat down in the lawn and admired it. I truely love that car. I have had it for almost 5 years now.(only 4 months away from 5 years) and I still get the same feeling I got the day I drove it home. I remember I bought my 2004 with nearly the exact same options (to eventually replace my '02) However, Instead of selling my '02 I sold my '04. I just can never bring myself to sell it. I plan to keep her forever. It was my first car and Ive been through a lot in that car. Well I know I probably sound corny as heck right now, but I just had to get that off my chest. I know NAM is the only place that supports my addiction.

I feel the same way about my 06 MINI. I just LOVE IT!!!! I was not this excited about my first new car years ago. With the MINI, I was sooo excited and I still am. My husband calls it MINI Madness. I hope I am never cured!

Hey Jtrem,

I totally get it. My first love... automotively, was a '71 Datsun 510 sedan. It was heavily modded and I drove the hellk out of it. I parted with it in 1984. Decided I needed to "grow up" and move on. I still miss that car and compare everything to it.

I've owned and driven lots of cars in the past two decades and I'm excited to say that my MINI is only machine that has actually sparked the youthful "love" and enthusiasm I had for my first car. I actually stand out in the cold garage and stare at it... crazy.

I washed my Mini today also, I walked over to the mailbox at the end of the street, and I got my free white roof radio shirt! I love owning a MINI!

I have the same affliction. After 2 years I still stop & turn to stare at my own Mini from across a parking lot & I open the blinds many mornings just so I can look at it. My family & friends all think I'm crazy for the amount of Mini talking I do. The scary part is that they don't even know the 1/2 of my obsession as I keep the staring & blind peeking compulsions hidden from them

Do you notice how non-Mini family & friends get that glazed over deer-in-the-headlights look when you start to talk about your Mini? I am scared if I tell them the rest they might look into having me committed & I would never show them my massive crate-o-detailing stuff

Jtrem- i think i know wat you mean. in the summer time i find myself
staring at my MCS after a nice detail job. my neighbors come out
asking 'wat happened? wat's wrong' and i point to my car and they look
at me and look very closely at the car not noticing any damage and then
back at me and go 'ohhh...... ok, you enjoy yourself' and they walk off
smiling and shaking their heads.

What about when you pull the camera out & start snapping away. Pics of the Mini, no people, just the Mini in the driveway, sitting there, all still, not doing a thing. I know my neighbors think I am nuts

I remember once at the supermarket, I was standing there and looking at my Mini. I was all upset out a scratch someone had put in it. Then some guy came over and asked me if i was alright. I started complaining about the scratch and he said, "Calm down Buddy, ITs just a car!" I turned at him and said, "Oh yeah and your wife is just a person." Then he started going off on me about how I cant compare a person to a car. I guess you can't, but in my world I can! haha yea I think I pretty Much have Mini Related issues.

so a scratch on your wife will heal. a scratch on your car is permanent?
i can see one getting upset about that one.

if i said that to my wife, she will just say 'you are a dork, now go get
me some tea.' and ill be let off the hook.

I don't know about you guys,I'd call it sick I get a bit of that MINI bug... I have a MCSca and I find myself making excuses to go out to put the top down.. Especially at night and I have to run the heater and heated seat... I got the MINI S topless bug big time... this is my first convertible and I never thought I would ever want to own a ragtop, but something happened on the way of me buying a Toyota Yaris... I had some free time and took a test drive the new VW Eos ,then I started to look around more about convertibles then I ended up test driving the MCSca.. that was it...hook line and sinker ... Now I always have to try to justify myself why I had to spend so much more than that of a Yaris for a form of transportation .. . I haven't found an sensible answer yet,but the best one is "life is too short, live it to the fullest" So the MCSca is that to the fullest so far, I have driven... Alot more fun to drive than other cars 2X or 3X the price.. .km

Yur killin' me. :impatient

I'm waiting for the temperature to rise above 32 so I can go out in my winter-washing gear, hot water, and rubber gloves and clean that nasty, salty, icy stuff hangin off my MINI.

I'll be down south over Christmas and plan a thorough cleaning and waxing.

Unfortunately, I'll have to return to the cold in 2007.

Don't worry, Jtrem, I think you're in good company. I've had my Cooper almost four years and I've only gotten worse. I tried to trade it in once...no good. I'm supposed to get an '08, but frankly I'd really rather keep driving the MINI I have!! I sit in my favorite restaurant where I can see my MINI in the parking lot and tell the waitress I needed a table with a view. They don't say a word.........anymore.

I feel the same way....

I feel the same way.... I will keep this car forever. I've had it 4 years and it still excites me. Absolutely the best, most fun car I've owned.

There's just something about this car... I've only had mine a little over a month. It's a total addiction. I have to look back at it every time I park it and walk away from it.
