Flat top jackstands

Would anyone have a recommendation as to where to buy a flat top jackstand at a reasonable price such as these from Ultimate Garage.
http://www.ultimategarage.com/hmach.html (about halfway down the page).
I really don't care if they are steel or alluminum but I would like a flat top. I'm not thinking I want to spend as much as that although I'm sure they are great quality. I do have a set from Harbor Freight with the "U" shape top and as a last resort could get a flat plate welded onto the top. Thanks Steve

This is funny, I've looking for the same thing! I assume you want them so they won't ruin the plastic jacking pucks?

I would have to say more for safety. I have a GP which comes with the four jacking blocks which are hollow. I don't know of a safe way to rest those blocks on a "U" shaped jack stand. Steve

I'm interested in this as well. I use the U shaped ones and don't like how they mate with the jack blocks, gets pretty iffy when you jack both sides of the car...

Griots use to sell one that had the flat top with the edge raised a little.
i have it and it fits perfectly under the lift point block.

might want to call them to see if they might have a few left.

Pep Boys used to sell a set of flat-top jack stands for not alot of $$$--don't know if they still carry them.

I've owned these from Torin - about as flat as you can get without spending $100/ea from AC Jacks.

$60/pr from northerntool.com

My $11 pair from WalMart fits my blocks perfectly... the block sits right in the middle part of the "saddle" with no issues...

The flat top is nice, but you will learn to hate that damn pin type height adjustment.

Would it possible for you to measure the flat portion of the top of those stands for me? I would just like to be sure that the GP blocks will fit Inside those ridges. Thanks in advance Steve

We use the 6-ton jack stands from Kragen. Not completely flat, but do a good job. Under $40.00 a set. We always put a piece of wood on top of them anyway.

If there's a Pep Boy's near ya, the Torin jack stands are available separately as a pair for $50. Snap-On has a similiar product at $80 a pair.

But those AC Hydraulic jack stands are very nice. But I don't have $400 for very nice!
