So I pull into the Mandalay Bay Casino in Las Vegas on Friday to valet my car, and my jaw drops. Apparently the Gumball 3000 was passing through Las Vegas that day and the valet lot was full of cars - I was drooling puddles!!!

A ton of Ferraris, TWO Murcielagos, even an MC from England, and your usual assortment of miscellaneous rich people toys.

As I mentioned, there was a usual assortment of some other nice cars, here are a few.

Sorry, had to post this one.. Dunno what the hell this Evo was doing in the company of all these other fine automobiles.

Yep! A Lotus Elise

Anyone know what this is??

A couple of nice Porsches

Like I said, not one, but two Lambos ... I had only seen this thing at the LA Auto Show and in mags. One of them was pulling in as I was snapping photos.. My did it sound amazing Both were right hand drive.

The valet stalled this one twice. The owner was watching in agony.

Check out http://www.gumball3000.com
The MC is on the front page.

This time around the Gumball was heading from SF to Miami. Vegas must have been their first stop

There were soooo many right hand drive cars with foreign plates. I was amazed how many people shipped their cars over for this.

Hey, nice pictures!! I'd go crazy if I saw these cars all together on the road

While the Evo isn't as "exotic" as the other cars in the pack, it is very respectable in it's abilities.

I know BTW, notice that the Evo had California dealer plates

8000 british pounds to enter this event... that's about 12000 dollars if I'm not mistaken, but that covers food / accomodations for two people

Very nice pics! No Gumball in Denver. But I did see a red 360 Modena Spyder today. It made me drool... Of course, some mid-50s tool was driving it, but sweet car!

I was reading their site for more info, apparently the whole thing isn't a "race". This time around they're doing SF to LV to Tucson to San Antonio to New Orleans to Miami. Party and activities at every stop. that's what 12k will get you

That is so cool! An English MINI here! I wish I could have been there to see all those cars. I wouldn't let a valet drive my car if I had one that nice.

I was actually pretty surprised when I saw the cars, coz it was only last fall that they did the NY to LA one. That's what I assumed when I saw them in Vegas: that they were heading to LA. They changed it up a little.

They'll prbly do it in Europe again next time!

Did you see the Jackass Gumball Special on MTV? Jackass, now that's some fine television

On a slight side note ... Obviously a lot of these cars were brought in temporarily into the US for this event (guessing coz of the # of right-hand drives)

what would an owner have to go through to drive his/her non-US certified vehicle here. Especially coz of all the smog/emissions regulations... For example, there aren't many, if any, Lotus Elise's here are there?

Oh I forgot to ask but did the MINI appear to have any performance mods? or do you have to be stock to compete? wow a Cooper racing with lambos and ferraris

Nope, no mods. Nothing external at least. I did a walk around and checked it out; bone stock I suspect.

I don't think there are any restrictions, since it's not really a competition. One guy actually entered in his semi! No kidding!

>>Nope, no mods. Nothing external at least. I did a walk around and checked it out; bone stock I suspect. Last year there were 3 coopers in the rally... one (on the Front page of the gumball site) was the Playmate MINI _'ve got tons of Playmate MINI pics from last year Hahahha Also, Matt from CooperFlags Knows more about the Xbox Cooper from last year also.

>>I don't think there are any restrictions, since it's not really a competition. One guy actually entered in his semi! No kidding!

that guy who entered his Semi is a modern Gumball legend... I think it's his 2nd or 3rd Gumball...

yes next year's Gumball is in Europe...

As far as getting European Cars over her for a weeks worth of run.... is only the cost of a permit.

The Gumball 3000 seems like a fun adventure.... I've heard that the Players Run is worth the $$$ in comparison though.

Anyone interested in a MINI 3000?
