are you people cruising in 4th gear or something (track people, I know why YOURS has been bad)? My wife's worst mpg for a whole tank on her '06 JCW has been 24 mpg. Highway she's regularly in the 28-30 range. . .

 

Very true! With cruise set to ~74 mph (a very friendly NY state trooper told me to set it there on Thanksgiving day ) I was getting 32.2 mpg. In Ohio (speed limit 70) with cruise set to about 80 mph, mpg dropped to around 29 mpg.

 

lol, I wish it was as simple as shifting from forth to sixth while cruising on the highway to get better mpg, but i have just excepted my mini isn't the 32 mpg highway car, it is at 22-28 mpg highway 21-22 city, depending on speed, load and what you got on top.
the aerodynamics absolutely kill the mini on the highway, you guys are absolutely right about keeping it bellow 75 for economy.
I wonder how much better the aerodynamics are on the 2007 mini? what do they say, 41 42 mpg highway, it has to have better aerodynamics, can't all be engine efficiency.

 

I get around 21 mpg city and highway not what the window sticker said. On the track I got 10 mpg
