The site finally worked. Im not too set on the look. I think ill pass on a 2007 anytime soon. I do like the new sport seats. Remind me of the ones that were in my BMW Z3 M.

I am still not able to do anything on the site. Oh well I am glad I have a '06 S coming anyday now. Just wanted to see what the look is.

I'm glad I got my 06' back in April.

I'm a little dissapointed in the options list of the 07'.. I did not see the chrono package, anthracite interior, and the three spoke steering wheel is not standard anymore. Hopefully that will change.

3 glitches if I were to order:

1) cannot get all season tires with the other free 15" wheels, the six spoke....the website shows only perfromance tires with those.....i would need to get the 5 spoke if I want all seasons....not a biggie though

2) the Cold Weather package must be deleted if you want the heated side mirrors??? makes no sense.....not a biggie either

3) cannot get the cloth seats in a std seat...I would need to buy the sport seats which I would not want if I were to get cloth seat....even if I were to spring for the leather/cloth seats I would need the sport seats......a deal killer for me

I will be more than happy to stay with my '04.....I guess their website doesn't let me customize as much as I would like....but it would be fun to have that 6 speed to play with....maybe there will be customization options once the 2007 model really gets going

I assume the 's' still comes only with run-flats and has no spare tire capability?

No you have to remove the heated mirrors if you want the electric folding mirrors

My 2005 Cabrio was $1000 less than an equally equipped '07 hard top The new Mini is definitely a whole lot more expensive in fact a new hardtop is now the same price as a new cabrio (in fact I am sooo tempted to try to squeak out a new cabrio in 07/08 before they change them & jack the prices up. I mean hell when they change the Cabrios over they will probably run $40K)
I think they have changed naming of things a bit...the sport package should still get you the sport suspension, but they don't call it that...if you know what I mean. At least that's what I have read.

I just double checked & the Sport Package does not get you the sport suspension. The sport package is $1400 for DSC, xenons, stripes, & 17" wheels with non-runflats (runflats adds another $500). If you want the sport suspension that will set you back another $500. So that's essentially $2400 for the items that used to come in the old sport package. Anybody remember how much the old sport package used to cost?

My Cooper spec is coming in just the way I want it at under $22K!! It appears more options will become available in the next few months. Works for me...I've configured my car twice and I'm waiting for an '08!!!

I just configured my 2006 cabrio on the website and came up with the same price that I paid. That can't be right!

I configured an '07 to match my 5-month old '06 as closely as I could to see the difference in the price. One option I have on my 2006 that I couldn't find on the new configurator... Chrono Package to move the speedometer and put the guage cluster in the center of the dash. Is it available and I'm just not finding it ?

Anyway... the price actually came out to $24,900 and I paid a hair over $25K for my 2006 CR MC with the same packages (and I didn't pay for some of the dealer-installed options that are included in the price of the 2007).

So... overall, I can't complain about the pricing for the 2007 and I love some of the new options (checkered door handles and checkered dash) !

Exterior styling--I prefer the 2006 by a good margin because of the bonnet design.

I'm going to baby my '06 and drive it for many years, I hope. But when the time comes, I won't cry over getting the R56 Cooper. Of course, by then, it may have changed again.

actually, the Cold weather package does not mention heated mirrors, just heated seats and heated washer fluid jets ...BUT, if you select this package, then over on the right where the pricing is it states 'heated mirror and washer jets'......so they simply messed up on the website description where they did not include heated mirrors ......I hope they also messed up on the non-availablilty of cloth upholstery on the std (non-sport) seat

Leaving all of the aesthetic issues alone, a similarly equipped 07 is about $1,700 more than the 06 that I have ordered. Couple that with the order timing and I will be driving my new 06 about 6 months sooner than the 07 I think that I am extremely happy with my decision to order the 06. I should have it by 12/15

EGADS so now it's $100 more but they no longer include the sport suspension or 17" wheels w/runflats so when you add in the old options in the price has gone up $1100 What a bargain

Almost no higher performance items. The sports package has been gutted, no JCW (supposed to be coming?), no chrono pack... just off the top of my head. I think the LSD came with the 06 sport package. Now it's extra.

Indeed, and all of the sport package items are still there, just at a much higher price it seems. And the hyper sport package will represent further options I'm sure.

I'll have to take a look at my paperwork when I get home. I recall seeing the words "In pkg" along with that one.

If you have the JCW from the factory, it was pkg'd with that.

The pricing was only a little different for an 07 MC vs. my 06 MC.

The problem I had was the Lazer blue is not near as nice looking as my HyperBlue. If had to get an 07 I would go with a different cooler. Didn't like the other blue either.

1 thing i did think looked cool was the Mellow Yellow exterior with Mellow yellow interior.

I am so happy with my 06, glad there is no buyers remorse after looking at the 07's

^you did remind me that after I had configured an '07 (just for the fun of it), it didn't make me regret having my '06 - no buyer's remorse here either. R53's will always be special as the first generation BMW MINI's.

The sport suspension was standard on the MCS, not part of the Sport Package.

The Hypersport Pack is $1400.
