We are heading to Milan And Salzburg (both have MINI dealerships) for Thanksgiving week. My wife has rolled her eyes but will let me stop once. Anything I should buy? The only thing I can think of is the Emergency Triangle Kit. Anything else, that I can carry back?

Umm, bring home a classic, you might have to check it though. Probably a little too big for carry-on

Can you fit a F430 in your luggage?

Milan and Salzburg--you LUCKY bugger! We've been to both cities(two different trips) and loved both of them.

We were at the Milan dealership in February and I didn't see anything that really screamed "Buy Me", but I did grab several of the sales brochures to compare with the US brochures. I thought about the triangle, but didn't want to carry it the rest of the day. A lot of stuff was the basically the same as is available in the US.

I was surprised with one thing about the Milan dealer--it was definitely a "MINI" dealer. The whole showroom/motoring gear shop would fit in much less than half the showroom at my dealer in Memphis. They only had one car inside(and it took up almost all the floor space). We're not sure where the dealer stock was, if there was any.

Enjoy the trip!

wow. that's cool that you're going to a MINI dealer in a Salzburg. I was there once (Salzburg, no MINI then) and loved it. how bout an extra triangle kit for all of us? just kidding. but really, how bout one for me? just kidding. have a great tirp. wonder if they will have any '07 in the showroom. If so, then at least take pics.

Hello,
I live in Italy and have the triangle that mounts under the hatch. To be honest, it keeps falling down. Not a big deal but you may want to use a velcro band or something to keep it up. Enjoy your trip and ask the dealers for a keychain or pen.

Euro parcel shelf is nice too. Good luck

We were in Salzburg in 1972 - rented a Mini (MINI content) to do some sites. Drove up Mt Werfen on a Sunday - packed with local trekkers - '72 Mini had all drums and the brakes would fade every 5 minutes coming back down - took forever but didn't wipe out any lederhosen weares.

A thought: if you can find someplace that will ship parts for you, ship yourself a gross of Euro parcel shelves. The amount you recover on re-sale could pay for part of your trip!
The pens/ keychains/ brochures idea has merit as well.
