I have to agree about the demographics of the typical Neon owner. I'm so happy to not be typical.

The ACR Neon is a much different animal handling wise as compared to the standard one and its quite capable in the twisties.

just listen to the name "Neon" sounds like something you put under your car. Its cheap, unsafe, and fast. Id take my little slow mini over it anyday.

"soposed?" Dear lord...

Anyway, the cars are in a completely different class. The SRT-4 being in the boring-uninspired-car-with-a-turbo-slapped-on-it class.

Since your mindset is obvious with the "how can I beat an SRT-4 in a drag race?!?!?!?" stuff, I suggest buying an SRT-4, so our community isn't destroyed.

SRT-8 Cherokee acceleration > Porsche Cayenne Turbo acceleration

There are some wicked videos of a SRT-8 Cherokee in action on videos.streetfire.net

SRT-8 Cherokee (0-60...4.9 sec)

Yeah it beats the Cayenne Turbo (0-60...5.2 sec)

But not the Turbo S (0-60...4.8 sec)

I'd still take the Jeep considering its $70,000 cheaper

Check out the results from the 2006 One Lap..

http://onelapofamerica.com/history/2...y=2006&res=SUV

The Cayenne S was beaten by a couple of Honda minivans. I acknowledge that it wasn't a turbo but DAMN..

Add a couple hundred more HP in the Cayenne S Turbo and maybe next year they can get in front of the Hondas. Its unlikely the SRT8 Jeep will be back next year. A rematch would be very cool. Oh.. The Jeep did the best burnout by far at the end of the '06 One Lap by the way.

Cool burnout vids. I found MINIs, and not only are they placed in the "Retro" class, but a Beetle won overall. At least it was a TDI.

The Jeep SRT 8 is a bad *****! Keep in mind that this engine is still naturally asperated...no turbo's or superchargers. Can you imagine what a few tweeks would do to this already nasty beast? The same engine can be found in the Charger SRT 8, the Magnum SRT 8 and the 300C SRT 8. Soon that engine will find itself in the Challenger....which has the looks of true American muscle car.

Meh - Jeep, Cayenne... I don't care how fast they are... a fast oversized brick is still an oversized brick!

At least our bricks are small and nimble.
