English is not every persons primary language on this site.

I know how you feel. Having blown enough money on cars in the past 20 yrs to have paid for a Ferrari or Lamborghini I always wonder what else I could have spent my money on. Still as I took a long time to figure out you can't own every car you want. At least most of us can't. The MINI meets all of my current desires but it'd have been fun to buy an old 911 or M3 with the same money.

Yeah yeah yeah, but if you look at the post, it's clearly not an English problem. All the right letters are there, it's just that pairs of them are switched around in every other word. No biggie, but I didn't want to leave this comment hanging.

UHHH, recent Sport Compact Car Mag bemoned the lack of MR2 turbo. There are about 5 companies that have been working on it and all have basically given up or have been ready to release for 2+ years. So the turbo function is vaporware.

I also have a Jackson Racing supercharged '99 Miata and the wife took the MCS. I was going to use it, but it is just not a sports car. It's more of a sporty car This is in no way trashing the MCS, it's just not 100% ideal for me. A RWD DOHC drop top is. The MCS proved it.

However on rainy days, long trips, trips to SAM's club; the MCS is the ****!

Great thread: Pig Latin, a person w/ a defective keyboard (or is it kyebaodr?) and a controversial idea- "MINI isn't the best choice?!" and nobody got trashed! I wonder what would have happened on some of the other forums out there, especially some dedicated to other car makes?

Kohu'ulaMINI-
The car doesn't officially belong to me, so it isn't...sorry. MR-2 Stuff Here are some parts for the MR-2, looks like there are some turbo parts and some sweet body elements. I think I might think about trading my MCS for a brand NEW MR-2...I would have to drive it though. THINKING, so don't yell at me . You guys are great...what support you can get from this site...

I think that by the time you took a $30,000 MR2, added $15,000 in body and turbo mods, all you'd have is a hideously ugly rice cooker that's virtually impossible to drive. Then you'd discover that the "upgrades" have reduced the car's resale value to around $12,000 and really be having "second thoughts".

Have you considered a car that's built correctly to begin with? Boxter? S2000? G35? RX8? Those names mean anything?

The MR-2 isn't $30,000, and why would it be impossible to drive? People think the MINI is ugly, but hey, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If you don't like the MR-2, good for you. I still like it, and probably always will. I am not trying to start anything Vespa, but, I like the MR-2. I am not necessarily going to buy one, but I like it.

Sorry Speed, I was a little worked up. At $26,000 base, I figured on around $30K configured but having looked at Toyota.com I see now that there are no options offered other than the $1000 leather.

The MR2 does not do much for my eyes, but my aesthetics remark was aimed at the body kit modifications that I find to be consistently distasteful.

Impossible to drive with some crazy aftermarket turbo kit. Even if it were remotely comfortable to operate, the last thing you want in a mid-engine car is some crazy unpredictable turbo kicking in at all the wrong times.

Finally, I do in fact like the MR2 and always have. I'm not so fond of the rear styling of the current model but still admire the car nonetheless. My only beef with the MR2 is the fact that the S2000 and G35 offer tremendously greater performance, quality, and style for about the same price.

Try as I may, I just can't resist saying this.

Some people second guess themselves a lot. For example, they'll get into a relationship with one person, and then, hey, that one over there looks even better! Damn.

Is this a pattern for you?

I just can't believe that with 800 posts, plus saying you love the car, that you'd really second guess yourself. What's the point?

If you'd rather have an MR2, then by all means, trade in your MCS and get one. Twenty bucks says you'd be saying within a week, "Damn, I should've kept the MCS!!"

Just my 2 cents.
