Ive been trying to send the MINI ringtones to my phone and tried different variations of the us/area code but Im not recieving any messages. I have Cingular as my provider and have a Nokia 8801...any suggestions?!

Nope, I got 'em on my phone almost a year ago.
I believe you had to put your whole number in including country code.
So you would put in something like "1 800 555 1212". They will then send you a text message with a weblink to download the tones.

 

Interesting... does anyone know a good way to extract the ringtone files from the website? I'm talking about getting .WAV or .MP3 files. My cell provider doesn't make it easy to get free ringtones, so I have to use some of my own trickery to do it myself.

 

I guess there systems not working as Ive tried diff variations. +01(my area code & number), +011, w/o the plus, just a 1 and my number...nothing!

 

To call the US via overseas would be +1 or 001. Maybe this will help?

US area code is 011 or 01 from my understanding. Yeah, if someone could extract the MINI horn ringtone that would be great!

 

I would love to have a distinct MINI ringtone, but neither of those two tones does it for me. The "MINI tone" one is a just an extremely annoying jingle. I like the "MINI horn", but I'd just confuse it with normal rush-hour honking in traffic. I'll stick with my standard ringtone for now.

 

I plan to use the MINI Horn ringtone for my text message alerts!

 

It does work. I was able to get one of the wallpapers. Haven't tried the ringtones yet, though.

EDIT: Just tried the MINI horn ringtone - worked perfectly! I got a message almost instantaneously after putting in my number. For the US, put in +1[your number w/ area code, no dashes or spaces]. For example, +17035551212

 

I get a blank text message in return.. no link. I'm with sprint maybe thats the deal but I am able to send myself ringtones as text (links to download). If anyone is sharing the file I'd like it too.

 

Turcicus, is your service provider cingular?? Since you have it already would it be possible for you to make it into a mp3 format? and send it my way

 

I have tried to get the "turn your mini" wallpaper but whenever I hit send I get an error message that says "please try again later". I am on Cingular & I don't have a Nokia phone but my phone does support wallpaper with motion. I tried entering +1 & my phone #. If anyone has the wallpaper on their phone & knows of a way to send it to me I would love to have it. PM me for my phone # or tell me how in the heck to do it

 

Anyone who has had success downloading the ringtones...would you be so kind and create a mp3 and post it here or possibly on zedge.net. I really want one!!

lol it worked when i had t-mobile...maybe we should write to MINI USA and see if they can do this for us here...we are just as obsessed as our UK pals
