I ordered my Mini with all white bonnet stripes. I thought the only options were the all white stripes and the all black stripes. I have since seen online pics of Minis with white bonnet stripes with a thin black outline on the sides of the white stripes. They look fantastic. Does anyone know if this is an option or are these stripes aftermarket detailing?

It's a factory option. "White, Black Rule" Part number 51 14 7 039 692 and 51 14 7 039 691 (left and right). THe part number might be different for the "s" model, though, as it seems like those would need to be a bit longer.

 

I had no idea that there was this option available. I don't think my dealer was aware of this, because he sure didn't mention it (could be he decided i had obsessed so long on the car colors, that if he threw in another variable, i'd be ordering in 2004...). Were others told about this option? Is it available on the 2002 models? Can dealer order and install this.

 

I just got my S with white bonnet stripes from the factory, and they are black rule. They look fantastic on the red with the white roof & mirrors, but not white wheels because they get dirty to fast.

 

The solid color MINi stripes are for the Cooper
The ones with the ruled lines are for the Cooper S

 

Thanks for the info, guys. I don't know what I'd do without minicooperonline! My dealer was clueless when I mentioned it to them!

 

are you allowed to get the solid white stripes on the Cooper S???? I would rather have that, i think the black rule makes them look a little fake.
