transmission question?

Do the 04' MINI's have the Getrag tranny or are they still the Rover based unit. Just wondering as there is one for sale in my area and I'd prefer the Getrag. This is on a MC, I know the MCS already has it.

If I'm correct, the '04s got the Getrags. Someone, help me out on this one.

Nope, '05's got the Getrag... '04's have the Midlands.

So I believe the MCS's all have the Getrag tranny, is that true? If so are they more reliable that the Midlands based unit?

Yep, all MCS's have the Getrag and to date they have a virtually bulletproof reliabilty reputation.
Whereas some of the early build Midlands units had reliability issues, which supposedly were sorted out from '04 and up... at least I hope so for the sake of my March '04 build.

Thanks for your help, I'm going to drive the Honda through the winter and take a more serious look for MCS or 04' and up MC next year.
