I spoke with Ask Mini today who indicated:
Actual vehicle construction takes approx 1 week. They will start new builds up to - Friday, Sept 22nd, with all 06 vehicle to be complete by Friday Sept 29th!!

He said they have lots 'blanks' available, enough to accommodate whatever sales rush occurs - but builds need to begin no later than the 22nd!!

I had an order in - but wanted to add LSD - and couldn't because the order had locked last week! I was apparantly lucky ( That is IF the whole dealer allocation schema is as inflexible as they indicate )- as my dealer had a cancellation and gave me the allocation slot to reconfigure my order.

Whew.

If ya want an '06 - better get yer order in!

Kind of exciting to think the final few coupes of this model series are about to roll off the line!

P.S. - Thanks to NAM for providing SOOOO much information to help ( read: overwhelm me ) with opinions on options! I started with a basic MCS and modded it before it even got built!!

 

Ah, the passing of an era......except for those cabrio folks!!

 

I'm hoping to order mine by the end of the week.
