My estimated production date was 08/09, and I just called 1-866-ASK-MINI and they said it was finished today (07/31)!!! More than a week before it was estimated to finish. I'm so freaking excited, WOOHOO AHSSDK SIDFHOISD DSFHG!!!

Rokk, I'm in the same boat, ordered about 6 weeks ago and still no production number, the dealer said I have another 2 weeks to a month before I get one... delivery is supposed to be sometime in Nov/Dec

Good luck! Oh, and mine completed on 7/29 - about 3 days ahead of schedule. But now I can't track it on the WW cargo site

My dealer is in Memphis - Roadshow MINI. I don't have ANY estimate on when I'll get my car, but I'm hoping by mid-Sep. I'm a little disappointed that I can't track my car on the cargo site now Have you tried? I saw the notice that said MINI has asked that customers be directed to MINI instead? That just sucks! So, yeah, I haven't made the call to see when my cargo-date might be...what about yours?

 

Here's the notice about shipment information no longer available through anyone BUT MINI...got it from another website about MINIs

UPDATE: 31 July 2002 Wallenius Wilhelmsen Lines has indicated that BMW/MINI has advised them to no longer provide information regarding the shipment of Minis directly to the MINI purchasers. BMW/MINI has stated that all inquiries (e.g. email, phone calls) regarding MINI shipments, or shipment issues, are to be dealt with by contacting MINIUSA or through the local MINI dealership.

 

what the!?! that's lame!!! is that just a notice to encourage us not to use it? or is it definately no longer available? If you call 1-866-ASK-MINI, they can estimate when you'll get your car. Let me know what they say.

I called them 2 days ago; that's when I found out my car was done that day actually. I asked about an estimated delivery date and they said they couldn't guess at all...I'm guessin because of the unpredicatable shipping waits and times. My dealer didn't have an estimate, either. They said best guess was 1-2 weeks once it hit the port in SC.

 

well that's strange. I've asked two different people at two different times and they both gave me an estimation depending on where I was located. I said "based on your experience, when should I expect to recieve the car?" call again and keep asking! :smile:

I ordered mine on 7/21/02. I just checked today and I have been given an estimated production date of 9/6/02. It seems so far away right now. Hopefully, they will run a little ahead of schedule!

I've got the same date as you, Rokk1 - 9/6/02. Except I ordered mine over 6 weeks ago. I'm not sure if they can run ahead of schedule for us, can they? Isn't 9/6/02 the first production date for 2003 models? Or does 2003 builds begin in August???

greatgro- I'm not too sure. I could have sworn that other people are getting their 2003 models built in August. But. since you and I have the same date, the 2003 probably won't start being built until September. Oh well, all good things come to those who wait, huh?

You guys are not going to like this but I ordered mine 7/25/02 and have a 9/6/02 EDP. Does color matter in when your car is produced?

 

i tried several dealers before finding one who promised 4-6 weeks instead of 4 months; got a production date that is truly 5 weeks from deposit. apparantly some dealers got an abundance on their first shipment and get a lower priority next time...thus the variance in delivery times.
