Howdy all......

Just checking in with a quick question for all you 06 MCS folks......

At the top center of the windshield, near the 2 small lights that you can press on, there are 2 smaller, circular orange lights that come on with the parking lights...is this the normal "ambient lighting" that should be on??????

I swear in my first 3 weeks of ownership I never noticed them before til last night......

So are these normal and supposed to be on, or am I cracking up??????

Perfectly normal, provides that orange glow over the speedo and switches in the center console.

 

I don't have an '06, but yes, those are part of the 'waterfall' lighting in '05+.

You also have it in (below) the toggle panel - I didn't know mine had it until I swapped it out, and only then because I saw a thread talking about it. Then again, I have the aux gauges, so it's less obvious.

 

Yes- these provide the "waterfall" lighting that illuminates the center console. tres chic!

Sure is a cool feature. I have the same thing on my M3. Must say....those orange lights sure are slick. Great color to flood the interior!
