R50/53 Doors ajar, no alert?

Doors ajar, no alert?

Do I have a problem with my car? When the car is on and if you didn't close the door all the way, isn't there suppose to be a light or signal alert telling you that your door is ajar? I'm getting nothing. Am I just not seeing it?

You would think so, but no... on my MINI ('03 vintage) there's only a boot/bonnet open alert.

Anyone remember the talking cars in the 80's? I remember my mom's door switch broke and all we heard until it was fixed was

"A door is ajar, a door is ajar, a door is ajar, a door is ajar, a door is ajar"

I thought it was the funniest thing ever.
