Hood Alignment

Hey all,

Just got my baby back from the body shop (Someone hit me in a parking lot). My body guy replaced the hood, and it doesn't seem to be aligned properly. There is what seems to me a very large gap between the back of the hood where it meets the body below the windshield. The body guy says there is no adjustment for this...is he right? Anyone had any similar experiences?

Hmm, are you sure it's not larger than normal? Pics might help and I don't think it is adjustable, but maybey you should wait for some other responses.

I have the EXACT same problem. The hood...just isn't lining up right. I was going to ask the dealer, (I dont want to go to the body shop) but I don't know if they will fix it.

If I were you, I wouldnt try to fix it myself. I'd get the dealer's oppinion first.

That side view suggests something is wrong. A good body shop should be able to shim or readjust, unless the opening now is out of square, and then there is not much they can do.
I would show it to the dealer and see what they think.

Good luck!

regards,

Hassel Mini (Freeport) has a body shop right next to the showroom. Maybe they can give you advice.

Good luck, and let us know how you make out.

regards.
