When little problems leave big Holes

Since I live 1 1/2hours (I know not a lot considering) from the dealer I don't get there all that often. Very early on I noticed that my 2005 cabrio had issues with one of the back seats, the lock didn't move right to let down the back seat. The second time I tried to drop that seat the whole locking mechanism came out completely and the seat never dropped since. My husband had the IMP picked up last time for maintance and forgot to mention it so it got ignored. Since my warranties are winding down I figured I would have everything looked at.

I went into the dealer and I was a little frustrated when the guy was trying to tell me that the problem was unrelated to the lock being in my hand (just me but that seems to be a big problem) and tried to almost blame me. Of course these are the same guys who said my brakes were horrible and I wouldn't make it home (other dealer said I had 4mm left). Well husband just informed me that when he picked up the car from another dealer they told him, yes it was the lock and that the locking mech. was so messed up they ripped out my entire back passenger seat. I now have a gapping wound in my baby.

Thank god they said that the seat though on back order is somewhere in the US. They said if not it would be no telling when I would get my backseat. I am hoping it gets in before MTTS, since I am doing the Vegas run and want the IMP to look pretty.

Ouch, doesn't sound like they're very friendly or helpful :(

Sounds like you need to look for another dealer (even if the new dealer is even further away from you). The last thing you need is for your dealer to pull the stunts you have described.

Luckily the new dealer is acutally much closer to DH's work so much easier to deal with. I just originally went with the dealer I bought from because they were great when I bought from them and the last maintance, this time they were sort of a PITA.

The nice thing about living in So. Cal is we have several dealers to work with, too bad several of them are awful and I wouldn't go to their dealerships to pee let alone let them touch my car. But if this dealership treats us better we will remember that for the future.
