does anyone elses when they turn the key stick a bit.

i'm thinking its the tumbler or no?

like mine sticks a little bit.

any other car i've had its just a smooth turn.

 

It maybe nothing more that the wheel lock engaged. Try turning the wheel ever so slightly in both directions as you turn the key and see if that helps.

 

Owned plenty of other cars and the MINI key feels no different. If it's not the steering wheel lock, as ScottinBend mentioned, I would agree with you. Either a bad ignition swith (tumbler loose?) or the key cut is bad.

 

Mine sticks, but it's just the steering wheel locked. It does it all the time. It didn't used to... Hm.
