this may seem a weird question!

does anyone know if the rubber grommets that the rear license plate screws into on the tailgate,get painted the body color from the factory?
i'm trying to determine if the used MCS i just bought has had the tailgate repainted or if that's the way it comes.there's also a paper sticker in the same area that's painted over which doesn't seem like something the factory would do.
does anyone remember seeing this on their car or was i uninformed of a previous repair?thanks in advance,

I think the paper sticker you are talking about is supposed to have the vin number on it.

I'll get my screwdriver and go check.

Yes, it does seem that your boot has been re-painted.

Here's mine showing the vin# plate and the white rubber grommets.

Sure does get dirty underneath there after almost 4 years!
