Odometer issues?

We bought our new CR MCSC a few weeks ago... During the first weekend that we had it we took a quick drive up to South Lake Tahoe. During the drive up, I noticed that the odo was different than the trip... I know what you're thinking... just take a look.

What do you make of that? The dealer says that they've had problems with the tripmeter calculating miles incorrectly. They suggested to reset it, write down the miles and then at the next fill up, check it. We did that and there isn't a problem based on our results. I guess someone at the VDC at a little fun w/ the car before pluggin in the odo? What else don't we know about the car?

By the time the car gets to the VDC, it has been completely assembled. What you may be seeing is a mix-up at the factory when the mileage is programmed into the car's computer. Unless you see other symptoms (like excessive oil consumption), I wouldn't worry about it. (Although, it certainly makes you wonder....)

I'm not too worried, but thought it was kinda interesting & worth a post. 20 extra miles isn't a big issue on the car...

Good point about the oil consumption. No issues on the car since we took ownership. Just a lot fo smiles...

You were driving to fast for the odometer to keep up.

Or, they hit the brakes too fast, and the mouse that keeps track of the trip had an accident....
