What do you want? 19,500 RPM and an idle speed of 5,000 RPM?

One of my friends used to have a heavily modified Civic with a B16a, toda spec C cams, headwork, mugen headers, etc. VERY expensive stuff all around! I took it for an autocross run once, and he said, "shift it sometime after the needle passes all numbers on the tach". I looked down and saw a "9" as the last number on the tach. So I have no idea what he was actually revving it to, but someplace north of 9k rpms.

The car was freaking fast. Our other friend had an E46 M3 at the time, and I (jokingly, I thought) asked him if it could beat our buddy's M3. He said totally seriously, "it'd be pretty close." A couple days later he ran a 12.8 at the drag strip. Not too bad for a fully interiored, normally aspirated built-for-autocross Civic!
