Mileage difference between MC and MCS...
[SIZE=2]Well, we all know what the manufacturer says
... How many miles can you drive on one tank? Also, please specify whether you drive a MC or MCS.

depends on how i drive... typical gas mileage for me up in canada is about 10-11L/100km... so i get about 500km in a tank.. i think that's about 23mpg.... which would be a mix of about 50/50 city and highway....
but then i am quite modified and i do sometimes drive with a bit of a lead foot

(Track(15mpg)-twisties(35.5), with a loaded car, but lots of coasting)
My mixed average, typically comes in at 28 mpg, and I'll look to fill after 360 miles or when the red light comes on.

But that includes a few low mileage fillups - just dropping the low two brings the average to 314.

My Cooper also gets just over 400 miles a tank when highway driving. More like 360 miles a tank when using the back roads. There's no real traffic to speak of in Vermont, so "stop and go" doesn't really exist for me.
The tank for both is 13.2 gallons.
My '05 MC manual tranny once got 506.1 Miles on a tank! I wonder if anyone has ever gotten more? I gotta say it was just about empty when I filled it, 12.7 gallons it took. I usually fill it as soon as the low fuel light turns on. My average is about 440-470 miles per tank. Mixed driving.

The most I've gotten was 412, but I usually fill up when it gets about half empty. I have tracked my mileage in a spreadsheet since it was new. Best mileage I ever got was 36.5, running to Memphis on I40 at 78mph w/ac. Worst mileage was 17, at the track. Overall average, since new, is 30.4 mpg. I did better with holies and Conti's, it dropped some with 205/55-15's. I do not drive it softly, hey, it's a Cooper, gotta keep it wound up. I usually shift about 5000 or 5500.
my 06 MCS usually gets around 300-320 but I have only ever driven in complete stop & go traffic. The one time so far I've gone on a long drive on the highway it was coupled with a fairly aggressive mountain run so I don't have a base for what it will get on the highway. I'm looking forward to a long distance trip on the highway in september though
BTW... if I'm driving the car hard I get 24mpg and if I'm babying I get 26mpg with all the stop and start... so I just drive however I feel like :D

Around Town I get about 380 miles on a tank and out on the road I generally average about 435 miles before I stop and fill up. The computer generally tells me I still have about 75 miles left on the tank but I have not had to take my chances with it yet.
I get a fairly steady 33-34 mpg with my '03 CVT [29k], and drive a mix of city, interstate and country thoroughfares. With the new MCSa, I've yet to go under 30.9 mpg, but then, it has just been broken in and has around 1400 miles.
Someone with a CVT needs to correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe CVT's in normal mode keep the rpm around 2500. A stick could theoretically get better mileage, but if the driver is making the decisions the revs will probably stay much higher than 2500. There was a thread on NAM about a year ago where everyone drove as gently as they could for a week and posted their mileage.

I got around 33.2, but it was not fun shifting at 3000 all the time.

The best MIB has done was 38.9 and that was on the highway. Nornmally in town we are getting 34-36. The problem is that I do tend to get a heavy right foot and driving between 2K and 3500 rpm can be boring, in a MC none the less!
I am glad MIB doesn't have a super charger. There is no way I could keep my foot off the throttle!

I get around 32-35 average....it's an MC CVT modified(intake, MTH, Exhaust) and driven pretty "enthusiastically" most of the time.
I once calculated getting like 41mpg highway last summer....but there is no way that was correct.

Nice! Is that town, freeway or a mix of both?
