Venting...
First, let me apologize for this meandering rant...
As I'm a Service Member stationed in Holland, I am unable to enjoy the excitement of tracking my new MCS via the Owner's Lounge. Nothing against my gracious hosts, however, "that is simply just not done here in Europe."
After paying for my MCS on 22 March, I have waited patiently for the last three months for her arrival. On a whim, I called my MA on this Monday morning to see if there was any news. He told me he'd call Munich then call me back. I had to call him back that afternoon and he told me that my car would be in this week!!! Excellent!! After three months, and five total without a car, I was quite happy to get my car!!!
Well, it's Thursday night, no information and if my car doesn't come in tomorrow, its back to the interminable waiting...
At this point, I'm wishing I'd pulled the trigger back in October. In that case, I would've had my car for two-three months, shipped it over and would've already received it on this end!!
Again, sorry for the rant and thanks for the patience. I know that once it <finally> gets here, the waiting will be well worth it!!!!
Cheers!

Well, you could try what we "pushy" Americans do. Just call your MA relentlessly!!
If you drive him crazy enough he'll just build you the car himself
.
You didn't pay the entire purchase price did you? If so, then you have every right to be anxious. If they had that much of my money, I'd be on the phone multiple times every day!
Seriously, hope you get it soon, it will all be worth it in the end!

Nothing yet... :(
As Holland is 6 hours ahead of East coast time, nah, my MA didn't call last night.
Though I bought the car outright, I really don't wanna call him incessantly because of my irrational fear that for every time I call, the delivery date will slide further to the right by a couple more days!!!
So, today's Friday and I've packed my camera to take to work. Hope burns eternal, right? I look forward to ownership and will pass along details/pics once she's here!!
Cheers!!

Poppa Bear,
I work in Heidelberg Germany (US Contractor) and feel your pain. For some reason we get VINs that are not issued to the USA dealers. So, we can't even get in to the system until we recieve the car and then we have to contact the WEB site to have our VINs added. I believe this is due to the way they track the cars for delivery. It is sad but we do get our cars a little quicker then the folks in the US.
The MAs are used to getting called constantly from people like us. I'm sure you will be driving your new car very soon.

Yup, he DID mean NEXT week!!!! <:(
After calling my MA again today (note that he's not calling me...), I found out that even if the car were delivered today, I'd not get it before Monday due to their required dealer prep...
Just like any trial or tribulation, during the ordeal there is almost no consolation. After the fact, its all good. I just hate waiting for that phase!!! Details to follow...

Waiting is worth it...
Hey, I'm here in Graf area, and just got mine last month, although, I couldn't wait like you, so I got into a preorder one, just what I wanted, minus two details, one of which I already order, and the other I will do today. As far as the oredering in the states and shipping over, not even worth it. I'm sure you've down your homework, not only is the base price on the MCS in europe almost $3,000 less, but you don't have to worry about taxes. Good luck and happy driving.

When I got my car, my MA called me on a Friday morning that my car was in and picked me up after work to drive me to the dealership to pick up my car. Only took one full working day...on a Friday too!
Mind you...they missed the part about the blower fan not working and I had to bring it back on Monday after driving a weekend with fogged up windows (it rained).
Look forward to seeing pix of your car next week.
Still nothing...
True to form, I didn't hear from my MA today. So, for kicks and giggles, I took a drive over to Maastricht BMW where my Mini will receive dealer-prep, just in the hopes that it would be there waiting. After leaving the A76 for the A2, I spotted a CR/W *roaring* south!! Sheesh, that could've been me!!! One building up from the dealership, I spotted another CR/W in the parking lot!! Finally, there was a third(!!!) CR/W in the dealer's lot, however, it was there for services as the windshield had a horizontal crack just above the windshield wipers. All in all, not a bad trip but DEFINITELY not the one I was hoping for. Just gotta ignore the angst until NEXT week. I honestly dunno if this is worse than actually >knowing< where the car is at within Mini the system. This feels like like Lucy holding the ball for Charlie Brown. You just >know< what's gonna happen but you've gotta go through motions anyways...
Cheers!!!

Its only getting betterer and betterer!!!
I called my MA this afternoon and now he doesn't know where my car is, let alone when it'll get delivered!!! I'm curious to know if this is typical for European delivery? I mean, I was looking forward to the whole Mini ownership experience and I'll not have that having bought overseas. However, do Europeans drop ~25k Euros and hope that, some day, their Mini'll come in? I'm trying to keep my sense of humor throughout this whole ordeal but it is getting old...

She's here!!!
Its been two years and 101 days since I decided that I wanted a Mini. Trully, the last two weeks have been the hardest, as it always is. Now that I have spent the last three and a half hours drivinig her around southern Holland, she has told me that her name is Maggy and she can't wait for the adventures to come!!! After I cram some food down my throat, we're off again!! Initial snaps in my gallery.
Cheers!!
Cheers!!
Congrats (gefeliciteerd) on finally getting it! The fun thing about Holland is that you can be in four different countries in less than two hours!
Time to celebrate with a nice Witte Wickse or Hoegaarden!

Yee-haw!!!
Wow!!
I have an intense headache. I'm thinking it started from the "new car" smell but was made worse by my insane grin!!! That evil grin has definitely made my neck feel a little stiff but then again, Holland has quite a few round-abouts, too!!! I'm really diggin these round-abouts, especially the larger ones!! I've only put 138 of the break-in miles today but tomorrow is another full day!!! Dunno if I'll be able to put that auto-up circuit that I'd bought back in '05 and still get the miles in!!! Decisions, decisions!!
Cheers!!!

As someone who has spent lots of time "away from home", as you have, I congratulate you on your perseverence, and the delivery of your baby.
Now, what the h*** are you doing reading this
Go drive the tires off of that b****!
