Yes, I'm sure they wouldn't want anyone interfering with this major source of revenue for the state of Ohio. I mean if that happened the Ohio State Police would actually be forced to do something useful. Do you get a ticket if you verbally tell someone about a speed trap, too?

And yes, I flash.

Who said anything about people driving at excessive speeds. I can not tell if the oncoming traffic is doing 5, 10, or 15 over.

So I guess you put yourself in the "it's all about me" section.

MarkS, the Super Troopers of Ohio are the meanest in the nation. On the CB they are called "Polar Bears" and they are not talking about the cute and cuddly look more like the blood on the white fur type.

wait...huh? It is that simple....He asked if people still flashed.

The only two possible answers are Yes and No. Despite the fact that your answer No may have arisen from the fact that it's illegal is not in question here.

Wow, I hadn't thought about this is a while. It seems when I lived in the South flashing lights as a potential warning was very common. Here in California I hardly ever see this with oncoming traffic unless I have my brights on. Most of the roads I drive are divided so maybe that's the reason. Also people here tend to flash their headlights when someone is in their lane and they want them to move. I hate that...so rude!

Yes. And think of how amusing it will be when you tell your friends you were arrested for flashing.

I flash when I see a cop, and Ohio cops are REDICULOUS.

So far I've only done it a couple of times, I actually rarly see cops (thank god) but I did get pulled over going 54 in a 35 around a turn and I got off with a warning.

And the funnist part of this, is that I'm going to school in August for Law Enforcement to become a cop! I'll keep a note of this thread! Nah, I'm just messing around. I hope to become a cop, but I also hope to become a nice cop....and give lots a scary warnings!

Wow, California SUCKS. It's almost as bad as the UK!!! So many stupid laws and rules...There seems to be NO freedom in America anymore. I mean, cmon....you can't even put an intake or exhaust on your car anymore....it's rediculous and un called for. God I hate America!

hahah VERY amusing.

First of all.....my friends would get a kick out of hearing that i had gotten arrested.

Secondly, amusement would come from the crazy idea that they would ARREST you for flashing. A ticket, definitely...an arrest? Unlikely

If pulled over, proudly admit to doing so too. If you were in distress, wouldn't you like to know that there was a police officer in the vicinity to assist??

Just tonight in fact, although I did not flash, I let my ricer buddies behind in their supra and RX-7 know by sticking my hand out the moonroof and pointing at the sky while twirling it, they hit their cutoff switches and turned down the base and we proceded past the cop without incident. He did blow by us about 30 secs later in hot pursuit of a cavalier who obviously was either a.) Blind, b.) Dumb or c.) all of the above, and was going about 15-20 over and went right passed the trooper without braking... It's obvious dude, A BIG BLACK CROWN VIC WITH HUGE LIGHTS ON THE TOP SITTING ON THE SHOULDER... what and idiot!

So Sue Me

Yup, all the time, don't care, hard to prove in court if caught (esp if your DRLs are on.) I look at it this way: if someone flashes me b4 a speed trap, it is a common road courtesy that is much appreciated One just needs to be careful before the actual flash. Jimbo

Most of the time, yes, I do.
Once, while living in Charleston SC some years ago, I read in the local paper about a cop who stopped and ticketed someone who had flashed to warn of a radar trap. The case was soon tossed out based on the 1st Amendment - Right to Free Speech.

i usually try to flash. Its funny when ever i see a cop i always slow down, whether i was going the at or below the speed limit, cops just scare me, its like seeing a shark when you are surfing. in the places i grew up cops where dicks. I don't see why some of them have to act like such authoritative ******, i mean is it to much to ask to act civil to other human beings?

on another rant i think it is retarded that cops chase people in cars. It is human nature for someone who perceives that they are in serious trouble to run away, for their survival, so why chase these people? there wouldn't be a chase or reckless risky driving if the cops wasn't trying to catch the person. I think cops should be responsible for any damage that occurs during a high speed chase, sense the chase is really their fault and they are putting other people at risk for making crazy people speed and make risky maneuvers to get away.
