Mod wish list...what's yours?

I do have a lot but I still have a wish list...... this is stuff I am commited to doing when I can justify the $...... about once a month or so I add something but some of my wish list is going to have to wait.....but it has reality as a base.....

in no particular order:

1) Clutch/quaiffe/LFW - I was hoping to have this in already - waiting tillI need a clutch
2) JCW CF mirror covers
3) M7 CF front spoiler for the aero kit
4) some CF wing...not sure which one
5) Sparco Milano Prestige seats

all but the seats I hope to have in by Dragon time 07....maybe the seats

c'mon dare to dream this can be fun

Watever one comes with a winning lottery ticket!

But barring that, I'm getting close to the end...

head (will do this summer)
custom ECU programming (will do this summer)
Suspension Bushings (who knows when. I was hoping mine were shot to give me an excuse, but I checked em and no such luck)
Lighter flywheel/clutch/LSD (I have an 02, wasn't even an option, I've been thinking my clutch has been about to go for 15k or so, eventually I'll be right).

Who knows what else my testing will lead me to, but that's about all that remains on the list. Then it's just more track time, and stepping up to a dedicated set of track tires and wheels.

Matt

Exhaust, M7 please
Schroth harnesses
short shifter
software reprogram

Those are the things I seriously want and will try to get together the $$ for... if we're going all out I'll take a new intercooler, color coded arches... hell... paint the whole car a darker, cherry red actually. And some new seats and bigger brakes

Budget not an issue:

Custom Rear Seat Delete (2-3 week away)
Fixed back FIA approved Race Seats (end of summer)
Harnesses
Bolt in 6-point cage (we'll see if I get around to that)
Exhaust (probably go modified one ball first then complete custom down the road)
Custom ECU
Intake becoming even more custom as we speak
maybe IC
Head
Splitter
Rear sway bar
Boost guage and VSD
Zaino system
(I'd also add a 15% SC pulley if I find its worth it to have to change class from Spec MINI to PT)
And 3 sets of wheels/tires (Winter (S-lites and Bizzaks), Summer (R99 and Egale HPs), Track (JCW 18" and Eagle F1s))

depending on your mods both GIAC and MTH are the popular choices

I'm thikning of going GAIC. There is a GIAC dealer here who works on a lot of BMW's and VW's and I'm sure would like to work on my car.

I already have a healthy mod list but I doubt I'll ever be done.

Yep. Euro-tech, EPG. I talked to some people who know some people and they sound pretty good. The VW people seem to love this software and I've done some research here and on MINI2. Looks like a good option. Especially having a local dealer for upgrades and if for some reason I had an issue.

Webb HDI (by end of summer)
pulley (next year)
exhaust
IC
throttle body
short shifter
lightweight flywheel
LSD
boost and oil temp gauges
coil pack, wires, and Iridium spark plugs
coilovers

I wish:
Yoko Advan RGII or SSR Comp wheels
P&P intake tract
P&P head
exhaust header
stiffer valve springs

In my dreams:
twincharge

They were very honest with me..... I tried GIAC with my car but they were not able to do the custom tune....... my car had mods they were not able to accomodate......unless I wanted to spend big money, IE. Bently money..... they tried it, it did not work for me and they gave me back my $...... I liked the honesty and would probably use them with a pulley/intake/exhaust car.....it was the head/cam etc. that they did not have a "programmed" for.

Not all GIAC dealers are created equal..

there are those that install pre-configured tunes, and those that can create them. Sad thing is, I don't know if there are a lot of those that can tune them that are also familiar with the Mini.

FWIW....

Seats... either fixed back like Recaro Pole Position and swap seats around which sounds like a pain, or reclining but with a 5/6 point harness capability like Recaro Speed 5 - but those are more expensive and not as good for the track. I'm probably test-sitting seats early next week. I just have to remember to keep the credit card in the wallet.

HANS device? It's one of those "I know I should" things, but I haven't seen many people at the HPDE level using them...

Wilwood / TCE brake kit - stainless steel brake lines - good brakes are eluding me. Well, maybe I should say great brakes are eluding me. Mine are good enough until I get to those tracks that are really hard on brakes, then mine make me uneasy.

A second car so I can go ahead and make the MINI a track specific car - still street legal so I wouldn't have to trailer it, but no need to keep things comfortable enough for daily and winter use.

After modding the hell out of my last few cars, I've decided to take it easy on the Mini. Maybe a CAI and rear sway bar. That's it.
