Is this accurate in your collective experiences? Any other tips you guys can give me before I take the plunge? I've wanted one of these for the past year or so and now it's so close I can taste it... just want to make sure it won't leave a bitter aftertaste after I take it home.

Thanks in advance!
The early transmission problems were on coopers only had to do with the seals failing in primarily cold weather, draining the fluid unbeknownst to the owner.....This problem was by no means an issue on every single model......there are many cooper owners who have never had an issue but it was egnough to make MINI drop the midlands gear boxes and go with getrag in 05

My 03 has been a good car......yeah I have had several of the issues mentioned here, window motors, boot/seat latches that rattle, sunroof needs lube and a tightening of the bolts often.....etc......but this is all just small stuff to me. I have full confidence of the car to get me from A to B every day. On the window motors, the dealer just replaces them but there is nothing wrong with them from what I have heard it is the contacts. If not covered by waranty I would just pull the panel and tend to it myself......

In short.....I have had nothing fail, that I could not fix myself but since the warranty is there I use it. No big deal after warranty
