Lol

--Exactly Bolus! The alarm system Batman (the movie) uses on his car would be cool too. I agree with gokartride too. It's a little disturbing how much we love our MINI's. But (SIGH) such is the price of love.

Hey I've done crazier things for women! So far none of my MINI adventures have involved fights, excessive spending, or the police so I'm thinking it's a good obsession.

Both you and pyratio have said you DO take your cars, and are just careful where you park it. I have no issue with either since I got my wife to just intuitively park far away. Park safe ... absolutely.

My issue is when your so stressed out your "afraid" to take it out. and here is where I am coming from. ...

My wife is much wiser than me (well I always new that). Some 20 years ago on an anniversery we bought a pair of expensive watches (well expensive for me). She wore hers EVERYDAY. I stuck mine in the draw, afraid to wear it because it might get damaged. It came out like for weddings She tore me a new one telling me how lame that was. Its a WATCH! Its meants to be worn, it ain't going to wear out, otherwise you threw the money away. Of course, she was right so I started wearing it everyday. Some ppl would be like OMG what are you doing? Well you know what? Both watches look as good (just about) as the day they were bought

Same thing with a car. A few years later we bought a brand new 911 (yeah young and dumb). SHE drove it everday to work, took it EVERYWHERE. I was like no way (It would be like driving a new $90K 997 today), you save a porsche for Sundays. Again she tore me a new one (like a hadn't learned my lesson) and again, of course she was right. The Porsche was meant to be driven, and driven hard all day, all night, etc. (dont ask, we sold it and bought a house).

Today, I don't care much about material things anymore because, to be honest, they can all be replaced. Thats why they sell insurance. No stress, fuss, no muss. Now park carefully ... absolutely, its not like we hunt down tight spaces to park in ... just don't stress over the small stuff anymore

Life is WAY too short to worry about the little things

Well I certainly agree with this 100%. The fact that MINIs are so affordable (Coopers at least) makes them all the more easy to enjoy w/o stressing. But then that makes them even more endearing...it's no wonder owners become "somewhat" protective. As pyratio obeserved, tis "...the price of love."
