R50/53 High School MINI Owners Club (HSMOC)
Yeea..
Any people from Indy that wanna motor or race...I got a 06 MCS somewhat tuned out...And my car was bought by my parents....but still it's all good and i got it when i was 16...and I still am 16..hahah
I did the same thing, but started at 10 years old, I cut lawns, raked leaves, sholved driveways, painted fences, cleaned garages, did house sitting and dog sitting ...even baby sitting. This was back in the early 70's.
By the time I was 16 I had $4K and bought a '66 MGB for $200 and then put $3K into its rebuild.
Kids today, on the whole, don't do this anymore.
My daughter went to a sweet sixteen party where a girl was given a brand new, red, M3 convertible.
I felt like telling the father to snap out of it.
Dean.

I know a 21 year old girl who totaled a brand new Toyota Corolla S (she ran a red light), and the parents just turned around and got her another one. All the while continuing to pay for everything, including the roof over her head. Absolutely mind boggling.
See? That's awesome. You've already done more living than a lot of people do in their whole lifetime. Don't even feel bad because your Dad bought you a car. Have fun while you can, and don't ever feel you have to justify your good fortune. As long as you appreciate it, and it sure seems as though you do.
I know, I know, I'm crashing your thread. But I just wanted to say it sure seems like you guys/gals REALLY have your heads on straight. A lot straighter than mine was when I was in HS! And this is the beauty of the MINI - people of ALL ages enjoy this car.
Whether you're in High School, retired, or using the MINI as the family car (like I am!).

I graduate High School in about 4 months and although my parent bough the MINI for themselves, I ended up inheritting it when my dad had to start driving our Jeep Liberty (long story). Everything that has been done to that car (MINI) that isnt under has been on my dime. I feel lucky because not only does having a nice car allow you to get out and enjoy thing more, but as a result I have been able to persue my hobby of photography.
I treat my MINI better than I treat myself sometimes, I Just couldnt imagine losing it.
I will tyr and whip up a badge In my spare time for those who are interested. Anyone have any special requests in terms of what they want it to look like?

I have the Magnaflow too and love it, my brother got his used from craigslist but I wanted a valid warranty so I got it here. Magnaflow Exhaust 15768, or you can try one of the sponsors here on the forum, they are allways having sales/specials. Either way its a great exhaust system, sounds great, and very easy to install.

hey i'm 18, i have a 05 black cooper 5speed, currently at sfsu, but i go back to visit milpitas every 2 weeks, maybe we can set up a meet or something in either milptias or san francisco?
I'm 21- in 2005, our family bought our first MINI, a BRG MCc. I ended up taking it over, and it became my daily driver through all of Junior and Senior year. I became known as the "MINI Kid", because Charlie was the only MINI ever parked in the school lot. I took my driver's license test in Charlie with the top open! (I passed)
I fell in love with that car, and on the exact day I graduated (June 8, 2007) I went to MINI Peabody and picked up Max, my '04 IB/W MCS. I like to think of Max as a graduation gift to myself- MINIs rock as school cars. Everybody thinks they're so cool!! Which, of course, they are.
Cheers to all of the "young folks" that caught the obsession; I remember how odd my friends thought I was when I could recite every MINI paint color from memory at 17. Viva la MINI, and don't forget to wave!!
