I think this is called hi-jacking the thread, but, I watched the Watkins Glen Superbike race on Speed yesterday. The ground level shots of the pack going by at 195 mph were incredible. Makes Nascar racing look like it's made for a bunch of sissies. Wonder why motorcyle roadracing isn't more popular?

Not to get off topic but yes..

...I'm a huge bike fan and ride bikes too but most Americans don't really like bikes or most bikers ride Harleys so they probably don't care about racing... but it is amazing.

That's a pretty good look you've got goin' on there snappy.
I'm thinking the black mirrors look better too.

I have a sunroof on my liquid yellow.
It's so doggone hot now I'm thinking about covering the glass with white vinyl or maybe do a checkerboard like yours over the entire roof to block out some of the heat.

Checkered board sunroof...

Remember Godzilla that a checkered board sunroof kit only covers the sun roof itself. I dont know that my kit would work... I guess it could but you would have to cut some of the squares for the sunroof to work... but I do know that that the sunroof kit looks really cool.

One thing I am debating is the aero grille... who thinks it would look good with my current setup?

If I do the checkerboard I'm going to custom cut everything myself and cover the entire roof like you did except it will be cut out around the sunroof.
I'd probably only use black vinyl on the white areas of the roof but use both black and white vinyl on the glass to block out the heat.
Plain white would probably be best for heat blocking though.

And in regards to the aero grill.. hope this helps:

THANKS for the photoshop! That looks cool!

The end result on your roof would look cool, but where are you going to get the white squares if you do the whole roof? The MINI checkered kit only comes with the free floating squares of the opposite color of your roof.

I have some friends that do auto trim and they have sign machines that cut vinyl etc.

I think the aero grill removes some of the cute factor and makes the car a little more sporty looking.

I am also considering a carbon fiber scoop.

Thats not bad, I think if I do the grille I will keep the scoop yellow because I dont want too much black... but nice job

On mine I'm planning white viper style stripes with black trim which will have to be cut out around the scoop so I'm not sure yet which scoop will look better.
I guess I'll just do the stripes first and see how they look with the stock scoop.

I didn't finish my real car yet but I did modify my "CARS" car according to my plans and I posted it in the message.
Sorry.. bad joke I guess

But playing around with the CARS car in photoshop did give me a chance to easily try lot's of combinations.

On my REAL car I think I'm going to just leave the mirrors white for now and go with the white Viper stripes with black edges , black Aero grill and checkerboard just on the glass roof.

I'm pretty happy with the way it looks on the CARS car anyway.

I'll just have to wait and see.
But the white ones look pretty good on the CARS car anyway.
