Hello Hello Hello

Just wanted to say hello! We just joined the Mini community last night. My wife has been wanting one since they came out and now the wait is over. We'll be picking up "Pepper" (the Mini) next week.

Now I need to get cought up on the lastest and greatest info and this site looks like the place to do it.

First project....the Serius radio! I was not going to pay $800 for it.

Looking foward to making new friends!

Rick

Welcome!! 800.00??? eee gads, just buy one of the little standalone units and install it yourself. I did that with my XM Roady XT and it's perfect. There's a pic of my "old" Roady 2 setup in my gallery, page 2.
Congrats on the MINI!

Thanks for the warm welcomes.

I added the "Pepper White Club Icon" to my signature....what do I have to do to join the club? Or is it just a icon for fun?

I spend most of my time on Diesel truck forums, this will be a welcome change.

Just check out the "Peerage of the Pepper White" thread which is currently on p. 2 of MINI Talk. Welcome. When we started there didn't seem like there were that many PW MINI's. Now, there's more and more. It started out as just PW/Bs but has since expanded to include any Pepper White combo. Enjoy! Great car! The best color!

Hey there and Welcome!

Just go to the Peerage thread, check out the member list and pick your Peerage number, then I'll add you to the Peerage!

Regarding the Serius radio.... if you can get one of their portables (I know XM has a walkman-like device), install the AUX connector your self and plug the unit into that. You'll save a bunch of beer-bucks.... just a thought.

welcome. I too have placed an order for an 2006 MCS.

Probably saved several hundred dollars on accessories that i would have purchased at the dealer but now know are cheaper DYI's...

I say read up and learn to stay ahead of the game

all the best,
Ac

That is what I am finding out DYI is the way to go.

The sirius Radio and a JCW air box.

Hello everyone! As you can probably guess, I'm the other half of Mr. Pep'r... I won't claim to be "the better half" We spent most of yesterday on mini websites and realized this morning that he is doing most of the posting... I better catch up! We are both really excited about driving a mini... it might turn into a little bit of a battle who gets to drive her next We are looking forward to the STL european car show next weekend and future road trips... this is going to be a great hobby!

You may find that it's much more than a hobby... more like a way-of-life... you have been warned

Ah... too true. Way-of-life = way-of-spending We haven't even picked her up yet and my husband has a whole wish list: jcw air intake, sirius radio, etc. I just got off the phone with him... he saw another PW with tinted windows... so add that to the list

(and to Mr. Pep'r...yes honey, I am playing on NAM instead of working )

Mr & Ms Pep'r,

to save some cash (beer-bucks, shopping cupons) there are a lot of things you can do for your selves to save money... as far as upgrades... that don't take too much technical know-how. Check out http://www.motoringfile.com for PDF's and documents on various upgrades. Might help. Look into one of your local mini clubs: they can be a great resource. And welcome again to the mini community

Cheers

MINI Not just a car.... A lifestlye!

Before your MINI, Did you ever go on a drive with a club? Even be a member of a car club? Wear clothes with your car's logo or image on them? Wave at others who owned the same make/model? Give your car a name? Did you ever order a car or just buy them off the dealer's lot? Did you ever feel connected to your car as it was being built, or transported to the dealership? Before the MINI did you ever go to the dealership just to hang out and talk with other owners?

Best of all Did you ever have a car that kept making you smile every time you drive it, six months + into ownership?
