Wipers and Locks

My new '06 MCSC is great! Two little things I wanted to run by you all. First, the wipers are kinda wierd. The first setting is a one speed non-adjustable intermittant. The next setting is what appears to be the "speed sensitive" setting. This one slows to an intermittant while sitting still and then speeds up to a steady state while driving. This is it? Not a big deal just wondering if this is all there is or if I am missing something. Also, my central locking likes to unlock and re-lock my doors while I drive. Any fix for this short of my first dealer service? I heard that there are settings that are configurable and that this function can be disabled. If this is true, how is it done? Thanks,
Paul

I have the automatic rain-sensing wipers, however, yours work like this, IIRC

Position one, speed sensitive intermitant, the delay changes with speed, they will stop when you come to a stop.

Position two, low speed, will switch to intermitant when stopped.

Position three, high-speed, will switch to low speed when stopped.

Your locks, may lock when you start rolling, and unlock when you turn off the car, however, I never heard of them locking and unlocking while driving. And yes the auto lock/unlock is configurable.

yeah, if you want the 'programs' disabled, you'll have to go to the dealer for that. personally, I wish my doors would unlock when I turn off the car but Ill have to do that at my next service perhaps.

First thing I had disabled was auto-lock. I left auto-unlock enabled though.

I had the auto lock and the auto unlock disabled. They are a PITA to me. It'll only take a minute or two at the dealer to fix that. The bad part is that they may charge you. The initial programming is free, but sometimes dealers will charge for changes. I hope they don't for your sake.

According to this TSB, dealers should not charge the customer for programming.
