Door Locks

I have a 2003 mini and sometimes the doors auto lock at around 10 mph. Sometimes they don't. I've tried to figure out if it is something I'm doing but I haven't found anything yet. I bought the car used and don't have an owners manual. Any solutions?

You sure it doesn't lock every time? It's a progammable feature that you can have disabled at the dealer if you don't want it.

I would say they lock about half of the time. At first I thought they didn't lock if a window was rolled down, but the other day they did?

If you have auto-lock programmed, the doors wont auto-lock if you have exited the car (after auto-locking once) and came back with the key on, likewise the passenger side.

That may make sense. I also noted that both windows will roll down when I put the key in the door and hold it counterclockwise. There was some issue on the forum I saw before about this option.
