R50/53 MINI, yes, but still big enough
I think you should start a separate thread about "what can a MINI hold, when seats have been removed" cause that's a lot different than what it can hold normally. But with the seats out, I can finally understand how all these people claim to get 7 friends and 4 dogs and a hot tub in their MINI.
true, i suppose it isnt ENTIREly fair...
but my initial intention of the thread was to see what people crammed into her, regardless of seats being present of not.
good point though

A year ago I bought a "fatigue green" futon cover at a garage sale for $5. Looks just like the duffels I tote my congas in. Futon cover in the boot / cargo area works GREAT for HOLDING things and HIDING them from view. It also contains your stuff so when the road gets twisty, items don't sling side to side and front to back too much. Plus, the color goes with my car. Best $5 I ever spent!
Before I bought a MINI, I went to the dealership w/ 2 guitars in hard cases, large ones, a large bag of music gear, a couple of stands, and my biggest amp, a large Fender. I asked them to let me load up one of their cars. It was a tense moment: load doesn't fit, MINI stays on the lot. Needless to say, 2 MINI's later, there was no problem w/ getting the gear in the MINI. Just last night, I brought a large armed wicker chair home from a store, no problem. Most practical high performer on the road today, bar none. I do use an old comforter to protect the back from loads now, as my last MC got quite a few scratches on the hard plastic surfaces from getting the music gear in and out. Going to be a bit more careful w/ my new '06 all-JCW CR/W MCS.
