I am not saying the Mini is a ferrari..ok..I am talking hp per liter...it's pretty kewl when you start doign the #s...the fact that the mini....a 25K car...can do such a thing with VERY minimal mods....is pretty neat...and speak volumes about this little delight!

yeah....those cars (ferarri) are works of art you drive....the mini is just dang fun...and can be quite fast now too

 

well althought I haven't seen any "head to head" I have seen plenty of civic turbos...and I will tell you this...

I think alot of the speculation about tq steer and drivability that made Dom and I go out to make that video comes from this world...

a 400 hp civic turbo is a rattle box...and you have to turn to wheel to what is seemingly opposite lock to go straight under full acceleration...LOL...plus the wheel hop is absolutly amazing or rather impossible....it's not even right...not my thing...I like precision...

that said...they can be VERY FAST...when I was still making 190 WHP I have a buddy of mine with an 02 SI hatch that made 398 WHP at the time go head to head with me....but he gave me a 3 car head start...LOL not that I thought it would help...I just wanted to see what it would be like when my car was done...so there I go....fast as I can....and then I hear weeerrrraaahhhhhHHHHHH! PTEEESHHHH! WERRRAAAHHHHHHHH! LOL...and there he went...like I was parked...heh he..and that car is only 2100 lbs too...so...wow that's gotta be fun...

ok so...I guess it comes down to this for me....I am doing what I am cause it's fun for me....

I never under estimate any car or truck....there's always a bigger fish....so for me if I get spanked, I giggle to/at my self... cause I know they have some serious power...and I am a car guy...period...so I give props where it's deserved...

Agree with what you said, those things are amazingly quick.... got a few buds with tuned civics on the road (none turbo), who are my friendly 'rivals'. If you ever end up running one of them let us know how ur BEAST goes.

older Turbo Civics are lighter... I know of an EG Civic Hatch Turbo with 280whp that runs 12.1 on slicks... also of an Integra Turbo and EK Civic Hatch Turbo with 300whp running the same... It'd be close, I run my friends '02 Si with cai, race header, exhaust and k-pro all the time.. My mods are listed below and I beat him... I think he has a bit more power than me, but not much... and he's invested way more money than I have.. hehe..

P.S. - We both have plans of going Turbo within the next year... If it happens, I'll be sure to post footage lol...

 

I out run my friends turbo eg hatch. It is full interior. The motor is a built and sleeved LS Vtec. On 17psi he makes 400whp (pump gas 93). However if he turned his boost just to 20 or so pounds he would be in the 600whp range.

I had pretty much my full allotment other than one lap lost in the third session (fixed with a simple hose clamp). The sixth session wasn't run because my wife and I had to shower up for the dinner (and I needed to get test fitting for my pink shirt ).
