Well, I can put stripes on the van hood and we can all ride in that.

Also, dealership just called. AAA called them and asked for permission for an adjuster to go and inspect the vehicle. I asked my service advisor to please pass on for them to be sure and look at the scoop, AC stripes, and lower front aerokit, as well as the hood itself.
They don't make Jet Black Mini's anymore... I wonder if the hood needs to be replaced, how the color is going to match... :(

So I know in the big picture it's only metal and easily fixed. But it's
depressing as he**, so much so I couldn't even post about it. I just wish like heck I knew if they were going to be done in time for the Dragon.
So, any offerings to the patron Saint of MINI's are appreciated!
:-(
Mark
On the bright side, you are, statistically, in good shape for a future high probability of no further MINI damage. It's not much, but it might help.
Positive energy directed your way Wagnbat. Let us know if we can help.
Feel for ya man, that just sucks.

Good luck with your Mini Mark... If it's suspension isolated, it shouldn't be too hard to fix.
Service advisor called about the shifter... Said it was loose and looked like someone used brute force on it, when it was already a bit loose, which broke it. I'm glad I filed a claim with the parking garage management while I was waiting for the tow truck.
Hey I hope everything is made right!
I had a problem with AAA on a recent service MINI assistance call. Once at the dealer, the service dept manager asked if everything went well with AAA. I told him my story which made him upset - he filed some sorta report with BMW and about 1 week later I got a call from AAA regarding the complaint. What a waste of time! The AAA person had an excuse for everything!! Stick it to them for everything they did to Batmini!!!

Beware of ignorant tow truck drivers!
Very bad night indeed. Don't you wish people would just do their jobs right, and own up to it when they mess up?
I had a similar "bad towing" experience a couple of months ago when my ECU died. AAA sent out a very conscientious tow driver (who had jumped my MC a month earlier when my battery died
). However, he was unaware of how to properly secure the rear of the car to the flatbed (and I was too distracted to notice due to the fact that I was forced to rent a Hyundai since the dealer had no loaners
). He ended up chaining the rear control arms, and bent one of them. It made it the 2 hour ride to the dealer, but added several days to the repair. The dealer billed the towing company directly, stating that they send out towing bulletins to AAA and the driver should have known better. Maybe you'll get some cooperation from your dealership.
It took at least a week to recover from the whole Hyundai experience

So it was the Batmini
I saw your car at the dealership when I was taking care of some of my bad luck: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=66038
I drove around the dealership but didn't see you inside.
Hey, for future references, does anyone know exactly where the car should be strapped down when towed so this doesn't have to ever happen again to our precious cars? Someone mentioned the dealerships sending memos to AAA, "I didn't get the memo" Does anyone have a copy of the memo?
Oh, and why does Tate charge $10 more for a $32 part from Towson?

Mine's been on a flat bed twice. Both times it has been taken up by the tow hook the lashed down aournd the rear tires with nylon webbing not chains, chains scratch.
Update:
Have tried calling AAA multiple times, but the point of contact (the adjuster who went to the dealership to look at it) doesn't answer his phone or return calls for many days apparently.
Garage has sent me a letter, saying it was a mechanical failure, and that they will not accept responsibility.
My government agency has a pretty large contract paying these guys about $200 a month for each of us to park (and there's 30+ of us), so I think I can get the guy in charge of our money (active duty Navy Commander [O-5] Supply Officer) to lean on these guys and pay for what they've done.
I have a body shop who is ready to do the repairs, but they can't start until I get in touch with AAA. USAA called and inquired about the situation, I told them what was going on, and they volunteered to ride AAA's a-- for me. W00t USAA!
It's Saturday though, so nothing will happen until at least Monday. Guess it has to be that way anyhow, because I had Alta overnight ship a replacement shifter from Oregon, and Tate Mini got it Friday morning, but claimed to be too busy to install it, and they don't work weekends... :impatient
So progress is being made... Although not fast enough imho.
