My only gripe is that they are overpriced for what they are (Tahoe or colorado)! I didn't buy a MCS to save trees or sip gas or any "sensible" reason....and I suspect most people on this forum didn't either. I bought a MINI because it was the best looking most capable cars on the market....The Hummer is simply the opposite end of the spectrum and if I had the money to waste I would buy one, becuase they are arguably the best looking and most capable OEM off road vehicles on the market.
H1....Amen! preach on brotha!

You haven't really experienced off-roading until you have done it in an H1. Taking 50 degree inclines is a trip (going up, you think the truck is going to flip back onto its roof and squash you inside; going down, you are hanging by your seat belts thinking the same thing, only flipping forward and squashing you) that you really have to experience. Any verbal description really doesn't do the experience any justice.

There are horses for courses. The MINI is a street-legal go kart; the H1 is an unparalleled off-roader.

Those Hummers are everywhere here in South FL, of course ALL of Southern Florida is flat as a pancake....Unless you are taking road trips up North or pulling a boat, That vehicle and any 4x4 is useless down here

Well I'm sure they think they are impressing people. Unfortunately, there are plenty of weak-minded people who are impressed. They likely outnumber those of us who laugh at them

You get bonus points for not pulling all the way into the parking space.

Do it and post pics of the Hummer hanging off the back of the towtruck!!!!!! That would be great!

No offense to you H2 and H3 lovers, but a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is more capable and costs about half as much. Even the vaunted H1 has problems in trees, because of its size. IMO, the only hummer I'd drive is a surplus HMMV (ex-military H1), because I can't see paying $100K for an H1 I'm going to beat the crap out of.

My take on Hummer H2's (and H3's) is that their 15 minutes is up. Where I live is a car town and when they first came out, seemed like the wealthy suburbanite thing to have, in fact I know a couple of people personally who succumbed to its lure. Now I think they're seen by most people as wasteful, impractical, and decadent in a bad way. I have one acquaintance who just recently got one and I'm not sure what he was thinking. I see less and less of them on the road, and more and more of them collecting dust on the local dealer's lot, fooey I say.

I bought my MINI because I think it is THE best available car on the road. Very undervalued for what you get. And I think it's best FUN car available, too. If someone thinks dropping $75 or more (and rising) in their gas tank of their Hummer or SUV is worth the expense of having one these over-sized beasts, then good for the economy and the oil companies. The last time I was in England just a few years ago, the biggest thing you saw on the road there was a small delivery vehicle. NO big SUVs, NO pick-up trucks...nothing that guzzled gas. In the months to come, you will see more and more Hummers and big SUVs on the used car lots.

I've only had my MINI S a few weeks and one of the joys I have discovered is getting along side one of these "Hummers" or other SUVs at a stop light and I like to think "I'm having more fun than you are!"

IMHO: I'm only impressed by Hummers with mexican pinstripes and bashed skid plates. Not when used as mobile roadblocks.
