That is exactly what I started doing when I quit using Rain-X. Now I'm not sure which I'll do. I think maybe I'll just stick with waxing the windows - they always look SO GOOD when you wax them - especially the sunroof!

It could be a manufacturing error. If you look at the wiper itself, there is a thin aluminum metal looking piece that backs the rubber wiper. This has a slight convex shape to it and is what keeps the wiper blade pressed to the glass. It's possible the metal piece was placed upside down durring the wiper's manufacturing.
There is no way to adjust them to get a better contact patch. Best bet is to just have them replaced under warranty.

Both my MC and MCS and my wifes SLK wipers have this same issue when we have rain followed by cold.
The water is collecting in the structure of the wiper arms and freezing, so that don't flex - if you wiggle the arms around you see the ice slivers break off, then the wipers work fine.
