hi i have a technical question for all you genious people out there. i have a 2005 mini cooper with the CVT tranny. i've recently had problems with the car acting like its gonna stall after start up and moving the gear selector into reverse. in addition there is a new high pitched noise, sounds almost like a whistle, coming from the left side of the engine block (looking at it from the front of the car), where all the belts are. can anyone help me out there?

 

Mine will act like it will stall (but never actually does) shifting into reverse when the engine is cold, and I don't let it warm up for a minute or so. It's been doing that for as long as I can remember.

As for the whistling, dunno.
