Going to miss first scheduled service

I messed up today. Actually. I didn't. The place I take my MINI to get an oil change did. They reset my inspection countdown for some unknown reason. They haven't previously but apparently they were bored today. This morning I was at 7,000 miles with 4,000 to go before the first service. Now I'm at 7,000 miles with 15,500 to go. I'm not so much worried about the oil changes as I get that done locally at regular intervals. I'll be doing it myself after this.

Are there any major things I need to look at that happens during the first scheduled service? Also, what is the third scheduled maintainance? In my 03, I remember the first was 10,000, then 15,500 but I can't recall the third. Was it also 15,500?

I think only the first service has a 10k interval, and the rest are 15,500 The other things done are wiper blades and interior air filter and your regular air filter, the cost of the filters would be enough for me to go back and protest, unless the changed these for you. From the dealer the int. air filter is $147, but much cheaper if bought from MyMINI. When I looked into an air filter the cheapest I could find was $50 after shipping so I switched to an ALTA CAI and spend $10 to clean it now.

Just take it to your dealer when you hit 10k and explain to them. They should do the service visit and then reset your comp so you are back on schedule

Actually, I'd call now and explain it to them, so they know beforehand. Then proceed to your 10K service as otherwise planned. If they reset it it shouldn't be a huge deal.

Also remember you are entitled to a service once a year regardless of the mileage you have.

Yep, I had 3,500 miles on my MINI at the one year service and got everything except the cabin air filter.
